The exorcisms of Latoya Ammons

So you are selective about what you believe and don't believe. I guess you are an agnostic.

That logic doesn't follow. An agnostic is someone who doesn't know what to believe, not someone who has made a conscious decision what to believe.

Freaking scientists......
-
I know, those guys and their following logic to reasonable conclusions. I hate them.

Or as the lawyers call it circumstantial evidence...

WSS
I'm a mathematician. Nothing is circumstancial.
An astronomer, a physicist and a mathematician are on a train in Scotland. The astronomer looks out of the window, sees a black sheep standing in a field, and remarks, "How odd. All the sheep in Scotland are black!" "No, no, no!" says the physicist. "Only some Scottish sheep are black." The mathematician rolls his eyes at his companions' muddled thinking and says, "In Scotland, there is at least one sheep, at least one side of which appears to be black from here some of the time."

I am just saying that I know what I saw. That doesn't mean that Allah, God, or Xenu are real. It just means that I saw something unexplained.

There are many stories like that, Logic, around the world. There are other stories,
like the kid in the fifth grade, way out in the country, who fell into a spring, down in their woods, on one single degree above zero,
just after dawn, snowy winter morning. He tried and tried but could not get out of the spring.
And no one ever knew he was there, nobody to help him. He survived, though. He just...didn't get out by himself.
Some stories are beyond belief, tough to explain.
One time, this kid in the 6th grade was on vacation in WV. One afternoon, bored because his cousins weren't
going to get there til the next day, the kid went hiking on the other side of the road. He walked down a trail,
turned left, and walked the old trail deeper and deeper along the base of a cliff. As he got to the base of the 80' cliff,
he walked on, past the huge rocks piled into strange configurations..and came to a crack in the cliff wall.
It was summer; it was really, really hot. He hadn't noticed that crack before, they usually hiked through
the large rocks' caverns, among the ferns and thick mountain laurel and huge oak trees. He stopped
and looked into the crack, which was just big enough to stick a leg into...and all of a sudden, he felt
a sweaty smell of -cold- air rushing out of the crack, and felt hands on his shoulders.
He freaked, spun around, terrified, but no one was there, the cold air was gone, and the kid
ran, terrified all the way back up the trail, along that base of that cliff, made it to the old dirt road,
ran all the way up the long driveway, and hid in the hutch-type corn bin until he could gather
his bearings.
Strange things can happen in life. Some can be explained, others not so much.

Boy woody for a guy who thinks he's really smart you've barely gotten anything but buzz words out of that statement. Just because you worship science doesn't make scientists, specifically theoretical scientists god. The shit Stephen hawking puts out there is nothing but a theory and in fact be just recently admitted he's wrong and that things actually can escape from a black hole. Never mind that that is nothing but conjecture from a guy with nothing but time on his hands, its science and therefore infallible right? Christ. Science is not always right, in fact many of the things they posit as absolute fact are nothing but theory.

Scientists a lot more recently than bible stories insisted the world was, in fact, flat.

Worship? No. Infallible? No. I also didnt say any were gods...
You want to talk about me not understand what someone else posts, look in the mirror. You seem to be big on buzzwords yourself. Your comment awhile ago about not trusting the current science because they cant cure the cold was pretty dumb though...
I back the current scientific consensus on a scientific issue and apparently that means I worship science... lol wtf.
The distinction between a scientific theory and an everyday theory is a big one as well.
I like to look at facts, studies, actual evidence, math, whatever when deciding why something is what it is. Not chalk it up to God. Not look everywhere for conspiracies. I am not sure where you are getting what you think I think, but you are off. Of course science is always evolving and changing, that is no shock. It isnt completely rewriting itself every few years though. Most adds on. Not all though, I agree. We could find something out the changes a subject completely.
Cysko, elaborate on the flat Earth thing. I am interested in getting a better idea of whatever you meant. Are you saying there are still people out there that claim to be scientists tat believe in a flat Earth?
-
I will make sure to look that over later

In case a few new folks to the board don't know:
the kid in these stories I mentioned previously......
was me. I've written about the spring in the past.

We already know the first one, magic donkey
-
You do, dumbass. I addressed it to new members. That isn't you, woodypeckerhead.
-
You left out the donkey though. A really really smart donkey that was fortunate enough to be in the area
-
Yes, I didn't know if anybody new was interested, so I cut em some slack.....
-
I think that is the most interesting part. There are stories of dogs doing heroic things during house fires. I am not against believing that this donkey, which basically seemed like a family pet in some ways, was able to help you out of the frozen lake. There are probably a ton of examples of animals doing just as amazing things.
When you push religion into it and act like it was a godly intervention, that is when you lose me. But if we keep it with just animal instincts in some way, I could beleive that.
