I'm glad the browns didn't hire Gase

Broncos have been completely shutdown. Definitely an impressive defense

Quinn's a good candidate, but Pete Carroll could be the orchestra of that defense. I'm happy with Pettine at this point. I hope he does very well.
They definitely destroyed the broncos, simultaneously I think John fox is overrated.

Seattle plays the same D every play, took away Peyton's ability to read defenses and audible to a better play. he's just lining up and running the play called....exposing Gaze's lack of playing ability

if they played the same def every play, Manning would kill them.
Seahawks disguised their def and Manning NEVER threw deep on them

Not too mention Champ Bailey got burned 3 times

They do play from the same base defense, The commentator's even commented when they lined up with the 2 deep look, saying it was rare because they always give you the same look.

This article explains there defensive mind set as a team. Its not about scheme, they don't hide what there doing. They believe there players are better than yours
JERSEY CITY — As a quarterback, Kurt Warner used to salivate over seeing three-deep zone coverage, knowing he could pick it apart.
But there weren't many times in his 12-year NFL playing career when Warner saw an opponent deploy that type of defense with as many talented players as the Seattle Seahawks.
"They'll say, 'We'll play three-deep zone and we'll still stop you, or we can get up in your face and go one-on-one,' " Warner, a four-time Pro Bowl pick, said Tuesday at Super Bowl XLVIII media day.
"It's not so much about fooling you or trying to disguise things," he added. "It's more about, 'We believe we're better than you are, and we're going to do what we do and you're going to have to beat us doing it.' "
That's the beauty of having perhaps the most talented secondary in the NFL, not to mention a front four that can get opposing quarterbacks off the spot without heavy blitz help and a solid linebacker corps behind it.
The Seahawks mix up their calls like any other defense. But they're playing for a title Sunday vs. the Denver Broncos because they can go toe-to-toe with anybody in the NFL even when their foes know exactly what's coming.
"That's what the best do. They line up in what they do and say 'beat us,' " Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp said.
"We played Cover 2 (with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) — everybody in the whole world knew it. (The Chicago) Bears played 46, and so did the (Baltimore) Ravens. That's what the big boys do. They line up and do what they do, and you've got to beat them."
Take star cornerback Richard Sherman, whom many defensive coordinators would be tempted to shadow on opponents' top receivers.
Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn uses Sherman almost exclusively on the left side, effectively closing off part of the field — but also tipping opponents about where they can go with the ball.
"We don't vary or disguise coverage," Sherman said."We play a pretty simple defense."
It's more complicated than it looks. The Seahawks can't sit in Cover 3 all day, though it works for them more than most by creating an eight-man front to stop the run without compromising the deep passing game because of the range they have covering on the back end.
They made a conscious decision to worry less about creating confusion before the snap after Quinn was elevated when former defensive coordinator Gus Bradley departed.
According to Sherman, there were times last season when players disguised themselves right out of the coverage rather than just being fast and physical.
"We take pride in the way that we want to play, in that style," Quinn said. "I think that's one of the first things that jump out for us: Let's make sure we have a style and an attitude we like to play our game in."
The Seahawks also have two Pro Bowl safeties, Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor, whom general manager John Schneider took in his first draft in 2010 as part of a plan to improve the team's toughness.
Along with Sherman, a fifth-round pick in 2011, they key an intimidating secondary that has become the Seahawks' identity and led the defense to No. 1 rankings in total defense, pass defense and points allowed during the regular season.
"Those guys are good at every position," Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson said. "They're going to hit you first off. They're going to swarm to the ball, and they play relentless. When you've got good players and a scheme like that, you've got a pretty good defense."
The offseason signings of veteran ends Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril paid off in a big way in playoff victories against the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers. Another end, starter Chris Clemons, arrived via trade in 2010.
Seattle drafted almost everyone else, including Byron Maxwell, a sixth-round pick in 2011 who has stepped up at cornerback opposite Sherman since Brandon Browner was lost to an NFL suspension.
"It's no accident that they have a bunch of All-Pros back there on the back end," Broncos tight end Julius Thomas said. "When you're playing against the No. 1 defense in the league, you've got to be ready to go."
Hall of Famer Michael Irvin makes the comparison to the great Dallas Cowboys teams of the 1990s that won three Super Bowls with straightforward approaches on both sides of the ball because they simply were better than everybody else.
"I think the best teams at this level are the teams that don't have to do a whole lot of things schematically," Irvin said, "because they're not beating you scheme vs. scheme, whereas the game has gone to scheme beating scheme.
"The best teams play you man beating man. ... And that's what Seattle does. That's what they say: 'Hey, we're not going to trick you. We're going to hit you, and there's nothing you can do about it.' "
The Broncos will have something to say about that, coming off a record-breaking season. Their group of receivers is the deepest and perhaps the most talented Seattle will face.
This will be the fifth Super Bowl matchup of the regular season's top scoring offense and defense, and the defense is 3-1 in the first four meetings. The only time the No. 1 offense and defense in terms of yards met on this stage was when Sapp and the Buccaneers shut down the Oakland Raiders.
Odds are the Seahawks will show Manning some things he hasn't seen on tape, even though Sherman said not to expect new wrinkles. Sapp doesn't think it's necessary.
"It's never the scheme," Sapp said. "It's the man in the scheme with the skill that gets the job done. They have some highly skilled gentlemen on that field."

So am I. I like the fact we have a hard noised, defensive coach to lead this team. The HC sets the tone for the entire team. I don't like a soft spoken Romeo, or Pat, or Chud leading the team.
I know some think we should have waited for Quinn.....Pettine is the same type of coach. To me it would be six of one, half a dozen of the other. Both can be quality head coaches.

My opinion- With manning's audibles at the line not working too well because of the excessive crowd noise, Gase's play calling seems to be leaving a lot to be desired. Thoughts?

I had the same initial reaction, but after further review.... crowd noise did not prevent Denver from winning some away games you know were even noisier than last nite's SB, e.g., @ KC and @ NYG, the latter of course in the same stadium as the SB.
Quinn's a good candidate, but Pete Carroll could be the orchestra of that defense. I'm happy with Pettine at this point. I hope he does very well.
Agree 100%.... maybe more. I was big on Quinn before Pettine was even a whisper, but am more than happy with "our guy".
As mentioned in the Warner article, Seattle has assembled the talent to play the Defense they want to play better than anyone has played it before.

Hmmmm... In the SB I watched Manning threw deep at least three times... in the first half alone. He just did not complete any. I did not even count the first snap of the game...
1-10-DEN 40 (8:18) (No Huddle, Shotgun) 18-P.Manning pass incomplete deep middle to 88-D.Thomas.
1-10-SEA 32 (5:04) (Shotgun) 18-P.Manning pass incomplete deep right to 88-D.Thomas. PENALTY on DEN-68-Z.Beadles, Tripping, 10 yards
1-10-SEA 27 (1:55) (Shotgun) 18-P.Manning pass incomplete deep middle to 80-J.Thomas
So am I. I like the fact we have a hard noised, defensive coach to lead this team. The HC sets the tone for the entire team.
So Pete Carroll is "hard-nosed"?

Some of you guys crack me up. So when the Browns were interested in Gase, he was a bad candidate because 'he didn't really call plays, Manning did.' Now when they get slapped in the face Gase is bad because he was calling the plays. I wasn't crazy about the guy either per se and Pettine is slowly turning me around, but I'd bet Gase gets his shot in a couple years.
-
I would say that an offensive coordinator who allows the quarterback to call his own plays is quite possibly not the right guy to turn a franchise around.

No that is BS. Peytons audible OMAHA shit doesn't work because no matter what he audibles into and back into. Seatle just stood there and changed nothing. Peyton was the main reason they lost. With no worries about him running Seatle may have had the easiest game they played all year.My opinion- With manning's audibles at the line not working too well because of the excessive crowd noise, Gase's play calling seems to be leaving a lot to be desired. No. If Peyton could run a 4.5 40 they still would have lost.
Their OL got embarrassed.

if Peyton could run that fast they coulda won big. Y u think they almost lost to SF and blew out Denver. Manning only got sacked once. They were able to play man on man across the board with 2 deep safetys only rushing 4 the whole game. Seatle could not do that with a more mobile qb. Denver line better than the Colts line. Andrew Luck woulda played much better. Hell Luck did beat them.No. If Peyton could run a 4.5 40 they still would have lost.
