he's (clowney) by all consideration (at this point) the best player in the draft. period.
drafting him is just a much safer move. of course there'll be people saying "you don't go through life being safe" and in a lot of cases that's true. but i wouldn't gamble my future in a card game with a pair of kings.
hey if farmer thinks he's our guy then i'll trust his judgement over lombardi's.
the thing that bothers me is this almost cult following of little fags that reminds me a lot of what happened with tebow.
let's wait until the combine. hell maybe i'll start sucking for JF if he's THAT good.
-
Hey, if a circle jerk could bring us a SB Championship, maybe we need to talk about meeting up for a weekend.

I am sure at least a few girls would want to join.....I take dibbs on being between them.
-
If they pass on him let me know when the next QB with this kinda potential and high profile is willing to come to Cleveland...hell there were people here worried he wouldn't even play here.
I love this. This is the kinda stuff that he uses to motivate himself to work and train even harder...the man is right...everyone who passes will be very sorry
-
i guess i'll be crying in my drink.....
when he gets carted off the field in houston.
farmer ain't fallin for this horse shit.

Screw "willing" to come to Cleveland. Most of these guys in the draft are willing to go anywhere they can be drafted high for a fat paycheck and I do not blame them. But come on don't buy into the whole marketing hype bullshit. Now if the guy had said throughout the interview Cleveland or bust that's a different story but he didn't. This guy has got a high dollar staff of propaganda machine re-imaging marketing people on board he is going to say what everyone wants to hear.
If he ends up in Cleveland I will support the hell out of him as a fan until he wins or crashes and burns but I am not drinking the Kool-aid yet.
-
The difference in money between him going 1 or 4 ain't gonna be a whole lot. I guarantee he would rather go to Texas if the picks were reversed and we had the #1. I love the kid as a college qb but he would have to sit for a min of two years, just like Rodgers did, before we started him. And in that interim he'd have to frame up some. If he starts for Texas next year you watch, toxic is dead on the money right. If not the 1st year than the 2nd...he will go down and he will be out for a long time.

HE CAN HIT CLAY PIGEONS... SIGN HIM NOW!!!!! this hype train has been going on since he won the Heisman
HE CAN HIT CLAY PIGEONS... SIGN HIM NOW!!!!! this hype train has been going on since he won the Heisman
If this is all we need to win just stick with Trick shot Tanney he has a video just as good, hell for that matter take Dude Perfect as an UDFA

He played 2 years in the toughest conference in College Football and hasn't missed a game. He's taken plenty of big hits to show he's durable and tough as nails. His injury concern is being blown way out of proportion.

so you're fine with us taking bridgewater or bortles as well?
or is it just JF you're in love with?
-
I'll take Bridgewater if Manziels not there.....haven't seen enough of Bortles yet. Why do you ask?
-
I have watched a lot more Manziel footage. Has happy feet, doesn't read defenses well, lobs passes up and hopes that his receivers bail him out (Evans did that quite a lot). Will he develop into a good QB? Anything is possible. Right now he is not worth a top 10 pick. He won't be able to use his athleticism to save him from a bad read in the pros. Vick was a better athlete and still got smashed.

Vick was a better athlete and still got smashed.
as will RG3 continue to be. he's got a lifespan in the nfl of a mosquito.

How about I'm going to try and be the best player I can be in the NFL, not I'm going to be the next freaking Joe Namath\ Joe Montana instead? BTW Johnny Football the way you scramble you'll have Joe Willey's knees in the NFL in no time.
How about "Im going to pour my heart out to try to bring Cleveland a superbowl"
How about "Im going to pour my heart out to try to bring Cleveland a superbowl"
Gawd, are you that oblivious? He wants the Texans to draft him!!! I'll put my heart and soul into any team stupid enough to draft me in the first round, I don't care. Johnny Football = Johnny Paycheck.
Why's it all hype? Just because you don't like him? You can say that about any QB.
I posted the video because he's a potential candidate for us to draft, he's working for one the most respected QB coaches around and has been for the last two off season. He's got a chip on his shoulder, and busts his ass everyday to improve his craft. Great attribute if you ask me. I like what he brings, and am trying to show you why. His entire life he's been told he can't do this and can't do that, and has proven people wrong over and over....If thats hype then give me The Great White Hype
Read the damn scouting reports- not the JF Hype machine. You wonder why he's getting coaching? His footwork is below par. Every damn scouting report says he's got happy feet, takes off with no pressure, and misses seeing wide open WRs. That's a RGIII blown out knee waiting to happen.

Exactly.

He also put up big numbers in an offense that featured Kase Keenum before he got there. Big hits in college are love taps compared to what he's going to get in the NFL.

@mike-h said:
What QBs has Farmer drafted, Mik, to make you think he would or wouldn't do something?
Remember, Farmer was the guy scouting Manziel this year.
Potential scenario: Farmer loves Manziel and Lombardi resisted. Jimmy wants the flash.
Scenario 2: Banner and Lombardo wanted Manziel and Farmer talked sense into Jimmy.
We'll see in 82 days.... SO LONG...
none that i know of mike. but doesn't logic come into play at some point when thinking about what we're talking about?
hell, farmer might be the biggest manziel fan on the planet and have a poker face that could outdo anyone in vegas..............
IMHO without upsetting all the JF queefs out there, that given 2 out of 3 guys that are going to call the shots come draft day are defensive minded, do you really think a spoiled brat from T A&M is going to scare pettine or farmer into saying "OMG we better draft this kid cuz he is the real deal!" after watching his workouts and his self-promotional videos?
you have to be smarter than that.
and mike the draft is in 82 days the first bout of the combines start a week from now.
doubt if any top seeded QB has the balls to throw then, which in my eyes mean you are a pussy to begin with because you won't accept the challenge and you should drop to where people in the past have scouted you....in the late first to mid second round pick.
right now. i got a six of your fave beer vs. mine that manziel doesn't throw at the combine. what @ most it's a $20 bet. show some balls. or any of you other JF queefs step up to the plate. i've got a paypal account. no probs.

Oh you think the kid from Texas want the Houston Texans to draft him first overall???? You're fucking Einstein

I dont form an opinion on somebody else's scouting report. I watch the film, I cant find anywere were he takes off without pressure or a designed run.....please show me were this exist's.
Exactly.

Kase Keenum played for Houston in Conference USA......hardly the competition of the SEC
-
That's a smart bet when we already know he's not gonna throw, nothing uncommon for most of the top guys.
You don't want scouts judging your accuracy with receivers you've never thrown to
-
I've never actively wished for a player to succeed solely to prove someone wrong, but I'm honestly starting to lean toward that way of thinking regarding Manziel.
It's nothing but the same ill-informed dreck from the same people over and over again. There are literally only three people who even attempt to make rational scouting conversation and that actually do their own analysis. The rest is just recycled, misquoted bullshit from ESPN that, honestly, doesn't even belong in conversation.

so you're siding with kiper and all the other mis-informed dregs that consider manziel #1 goods? so instead of being in the minority you are now in the majority.
hey i hope the kid does do good. and if we draft him (like we did TR, weeden and mccoy) i'll root for them even though i thought at the time what a dumb move.
meanwhile i don't know what agent he signed with but whoever it is needs to tell the kid to shut the fuck up. watching olberman tonite and now i've seen where he has said that if jacksonville passes on him it will be "the biggest mistake of their lives, because i'll make sure they will have regretted that decision each and everytime we play them."
what a cunt. i DON'T root for assholes like that unless of course they are on my team.
that kid wouldn't last a season in cleveland IMHO, begging the differences of such acclaimed football analysis fans on this forum such as MIKE H, TCPO, WALTER WHITE, CLEVEANDMILK AND JEFFINPODUNKLAND.
call me when you wanna make that bet guys.

How many players does an SEC school send to the NFL any given year? 4? 5? 6? In the NFL everyone is Pro-caliber. Even for an SEC team only 5-15% of the roster is pro-caliber...
Manziel's bread and butter is extending the play until the defense breaks down, just like Big Ben. Unfortunately for JCF, Worthlessburger does it with pocket presence, mobility and size. Manziel only has mobility, his pocket presence is "eh" at best, and if he was a girl he'd be considered pretty tall.
He's not gonna have the time he did in college (both years at A&M he had a blue-chip left tackle), he's not gonna be able to buy the time (NFL is a LOT faster) and if by some stroke of luck he doesn't look like a used up tube of toothpaste due to the beating he's going to take, the alternative will be him turning the ball over constantly due to all of his praying (shit the guy can't go through progressions).
If he's there with the second 3rd rounder, sure, take a shot, but #4 overall? Really?!
