Who does everyone want with our first 3 picks?
-
1. Bridgewater - If they cant get him at 4 then I am ok trading down (taking best DPA) for an extra 1st next year.
2. Best defensive player available
3. Best defensive player available
I am surprised so many want a WR and RB. Since we all love to look at SB winners, I looked at the RBs from those teams over the last 10 years and I am not seeing much. Lynch may be the best RB on a SB winner in a long time and he is nice, not great. Even the WR cores are just ok.
It makes sense if you think about this way. I doubt anybody would disagree QB is the most important position by a ton. I think most would also agree that defense is just about as important as offense. Going a step further, no defensive position impacts a defense the way QB impacts an offense. Essentially, I am saying a good S, or CB, or ILB helps a defense close to equally. Whereas a good QB helps an offense more than an OG, or WR, etc. And since O and D are both equally important, it goes to say ILB, S, CB, etc are slightly more important than WR, RB, etc.
Many like to refer to the Seattle model and this is exactly how they did it! They are really good at QB and defense. And overall mediocre at the other 10 offensive positions.
Also, I am not looking at Bridgewater to a savior, or the next Rodgers (tho itd be nice), or whatever. He just needs be like 12-16th best QB in the league good to justify the pick. And I think he has a pretty high floor.

i like defense all the way through. the only offensive players i would draft this year is WR and RB. i think with the departure of DQ we need a dominate LB and who's the best: mack. then i'd try somehow to get the biggest tallest WR with the next pick. then a CB/S with the next, using later round picks to move up if necessary. i wouldn't touch a running back until round 4 or 5.

I definitely like Mack at #4 now that DQJ is gone.
After that it's tougher. Really want a nice WR and Xavier Su'a-filo.
Agree we don't need a RB until 4/5 there's plenty of good ones out there.
I'd try to snag Garappolo somewhere too.

Your joking right? That is a horrible, dreadful, abominable first three picks. Bleh. Thank god your not our gm lollercopter. Anyways, I would:DE Kony Ealy
CB Keith McGill
QB Jeff Mathews
A) trade down for mack or evans(6 would prob do for mack, bit lower for Evans.) and get another second or possibly another first for next year if we throw a third or fourth in or
B ) take bpa at 4 and that's def not one of the top 3 qbs (i can't help but laugh everytime I refer to them as top 3!) Clowney, Watkins, even the unsexy OT
And then:
26) top flight cb or safety (clinton-dix, though he most likely won't make it this far)
35) ilb (if we don't get mack, say shazier or Borland) or Wr if we don't Watkins or Evans

Dude I like Jeff Matthews as a projects but you cant be serious about picking him in the 2nd round??

Gotta take a QB at 4. Defense does not win games. It helps maintain leads, that is all. JF all the way.

i think you get behind the dumbest movements swinging against the grain and just post your shit to get people to react as if they just sat on a tack.
all this top 3 QBs sentiment is starting to slowly fade with a lot of 'experts' starting to question if any of these guys will be a franchise QB. hell phil simms said geno smith would be the number one QB in this class if he were in the mix with this bunch and that is a laugh in itself. you'll be lucky if any of them will be rated in the top ten by may, that's not to say some team won't pick one of them, it's just saying the wave of this 'awesome' QB class is becoming a gentle tide.

Sorry dude. Drafting DF players wont win us any fucking games. We need a playmaker. It ain't a fucking LB or CB.

I wouldn't take him that early either, those are just 3 guys I want to leave this draft with. I just have no idea who I want at 4 yet. I don't know how we could take Mack there when we have Mingo, Sheard, Kruger and Groves at OLB.....Just can't see it, WR that high doesn't seem like a good option either when its one of the deepest positions in this draft, and we already have a #1. I'm thinking it's OT, QB or trade down. Tackle wouldn't make me feel warm and fuzzy and the only QB I like is Manziel, but is a 5'11" QB worth a top 5 pick? History says no.

Ask the best offense in the NFL how they feel about that.

1A. Mack, or trade down with Vikings, and C.J. Mosely. Both can play inside or out.
Huge, huge addition of dominant player. UNLESS.... Bridgewater is there. I think
maybe JF and Bortles will be gone.
1B. Qb. Derek Carr or McCarron Browns choice.
2. WR it's a deep, deep wr draft. But waiting til round three doesn't
get you an elite difference maker.
3. OG
4A. CB
4B OLB
5. RB power workhorse
All of these picks are just my opinion at the moment, and probably completely and stupidly wrong....
FA should be interesting...

QB
WR
OG
We've had too much fluff at those positions in the past. Take them in that order, also -- WR is so deep we'll probably get our starting slot WR in the 3rd. Also, the Stanford OG had a horrible combine so he'll probably slide to round3 - perhaps we can get our next 2 starting OG. and #2/#3 WR after our QB.
RB can be anyone.. Blount was a street free agent for a reason.
-
Bring in Josh McCown to compete with Hoyer ....draft the QB next year or take one in 4th round .....
Round 1 Watkins and CB
Round 2 Running Back
Round 3 ILB and OT
