Thought I would make a thread where everyone throws in a funny travel story. No politics but I don't post in the Barbershop so I thought I would put it here.

What brought it on was seeing something funny and absurd this morning. I am having to put together projection maps of how the chemicals were dispersed into the waterways after the chemical spills here in WV. I had to get data from one of the aquatic ecology professors at Marshall University. As I am walking back to my car, I see a fat lady crouched behind a tree in work attire (skirt, blouse, the whole bit). It is pretty cold so it was weird how under dressed she was. I realize that she is just powering down a big tin of what looks like muffins haha. She was destroying these things but looks like she is trying to hide from coworkers because she kept turning around to see if any familiar faces were watching. She didn't see to be bothered by strangers seeing her do it.

She eventually slid the tin under a bush and sparked up a cigarette as her coworkers came out of the building. I am guessing that fatty didn't want them to see her choking down baked goods. Probably went back inside and told everyone that she was skipping lunch to lose a few pounds.

In my travels, while in Rome I saw a busker, playing the accordion - except it wasn't the accordion, he was playing the air accordion, just miming the actions while a stereo played the actual music.

      That kind of thing?

Anything funny or interesting that happened while you were out and about somewhere.

Ex: Saw a pantsless crack whore shit herself while running (insert George Carlin) through a McDonalds to get away from the cops. It happened the first day I was in L.A. and it set the tone for the rest of the trip. L.A. is fucking awful.

LA sucks, DC outside the monuments/tourist attractions is a shithole.

I saw some bands in DC when I was 18. The club was outside of the nice parts of the city. It was fucking 3rd world.

Dc outside the mall area is crap. The country around there is beautiful though.

Early man walked away as modern man took control. Their minds weren't all the same and to conquer was their goal. So He built his great empires and he slaughtered his own kind, and he died a confused man and killed himself in his own mind...

Down in the BVI staying on a boat for a week. Pull into slip and hit a bar for the night (can't remember which island). two asshole white guys at the bar (early 40s maybe) have a laser pointer (when laser pointers were a big thing - so maybe 15+ years ago). Local Rasta has never seen this thing and these two assholes start fucking with him moving the red dot all over the place. Long story short, the Rasta thrashes the bar flipping over chairs/tables and shit screaming "IT'S THE FUCKING DEVIL!! IT'S THE FUCKING DEVIL!!" Totally fucking crazy.

I was a punk-ass 18-19 year old kid and still thought that shit was messed up.

When I lived in Manassas, VA and used to visit here in Cleveland, I used to take I66 to I81, to 522 to 70 to bypass 495 around DC. Berkeley Springs, WV looked like a nice little town right before you crossed the Potomac and hit I70.

That part of the state is nice. The center of the state is when you hear the banjos and make a battle plan for defending your cornhole.
