Why trade picks away tomorrow he will be released buy him then.

I assume you didn't read the rest of the thread. He's not a free agent. He just signed a 6 year 96 mill deal last year. The Bucs may cut him ($0 guaranteed) to free up the 16 mil and 1.5 mil signing bonus but a free agent he ain't.

He becomes a FA when he gets cut. What is it about that you don't understand. And all 32 teams are free to negotiate with him for whatever price they can agree to.

  • Buccaneers will not just release him to save $1.5M and move up a round in the middle of the draft.

  • He'll go to the Pats or 49ers, the guy who started this thread is a tool.

That's why I made this thread 3 hours before the national media picked up on, right?

yes they will. they don't want his contract @ $16 mil. the $1.5 is a bonus they have to pay if he's still on their team this afternoon.

he's gonna have to take a pay cut, especially after teams watch film from last year on him.

there was report that cleveland was in the mix with a trade early this morning but said he wouldn't take the pay cut cleveland was talking about. so i doubt you see him in brown and orange.

Not that you're the best cat to ask this to, but I'll put it out there anyway.

Why was Revis so comparitively ineffective last season? I don't assume that it's what he is now, as history has dictated something stronger. But he certainly didn't have a good year. Just health issues?

Because Pettine wasn't the Bucs' DC, if you ask me.

  • I thought Revis was supposed to be traded to the Browns today. Except "today" was yesterday, which made

today "tomorrow", except today is today now...

Revis is too expensive, won't reneg, I'm fine with him going elsewhere if he doesn't want

    to join the Browns.

Revis for a fifth rounder and say $10 million on a one year deal- fine. According to OP who's been smokin' the good stuff, First round pick and $16 million?

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

The Chiefs got Alex Smith for less than that.

  • Exactly^ If the Bucs are serious about releasing him, they'll take a 7th.

The bucs didn't use him in press man at all - which is where he's at his best. He was in a zone too much under schiano, and complained about it.

  • What time was he supposed to be cut or traded by? 4:00? It is now 3:18 on my computer clock.

    Any word?

    4. If he isn't traded or cut they swap 3rd and 4th rounders with the jets. And give him a bonus.

  • We don't need Revis, he's just a guy playing for one last contract.

  • 3:35pm, tick, tock.... tick, tock, what are the Bucs gonna do!!!

  • And hes a free agent

  • They cut him ... can we officially call the OP wrong?

    Zombo

  • I did when he posted it.

  • Only way the Browns get him is if they offer the top dollar. The guy wants to get paid and doesn't care where he goes.
