Harrison dumped by Bengals
-
I think the steelers are done with James. He talked shit on his way out of there, basically saying he couldn't wait to fuck dudes up when he came to town with the Bengals. They're moving on. He was never a real captain or leader anyway, he kept to himself and only gave a fuck about himself. So why bring him back? To mentor the noobs? He could care less....couldn't mentor them even if he wanted to, which he doesn't. I respect the dude, he's his own man...goes through life how he feels like. But there's certain things he's not capable of and that means now that his skills have diminished...his usefulness in the league is diminished even more. This is why guys like DQ carry value past their playing prime.
It is true that James Harrison was never a Team Captain or Leader; his personality is more introverted, and he is not the dominant OLB he once was.
Other than that, you have a phenomenal imagination - because nothing you said has even the slightest bit of accuracy.
- On his way "out"; he commented that "All good things must end", he never "talked shit" on his way out.
- The only thing he ever gave a fuck about was himself -- and you know this how? Have you ever met the guy?
- Why bring him back? Because he knows the complicated 3-4 system and the Steelers are very thin at OLB after Jones and Worilds.
The fact is, the comment is being blown out of proportion as it is because it was said off the cuff and it's more likely than not that James Harrison can call it a career.

I have no problem if the Steelers want to bring him back. It will mean they are desperate and will be weak in their LB corps.

Lets use Zombo Logic: James Harrison is not only better than any Cleveland Browns LB ever, he is better than any Cleveland Browns Defensive Player ever.
Hmm. What a silly stupid statement. Harrison was good in his prime....but even if we assume he wasn't a roid rager, there is certainly NO guarantee or assumption that he would be a Hall of Fame type player. He is certainly no Len Ford or Bill Willis.
He is more Clay Matthews/Chip Banks/Jerry Sherk/Vince Costello. Good players, but not HOF.

Actually, I remember Gerald Tinker. Blazing fast wr... Poole, rb, ...
and the qb back then, I think got draft by the Jets, but didn't make the cut?
There's a good list of Kent State players who played in the NFL. I think Tinker
had a career ending knee injury his first year.....
Met Lambert at the Robin Hood inn one year... his roommate was Gary Pinkel, TE,
who I was surprised never made it to the pros.
Don Nottingham. No surprise he did.

It was a cheap shot.we all know it...except you dumb ass steller fans...
This coming from the fan base who rates the Turkey Jones slamming and injuring of Terry Bradshaw as one of the franchise highlight plays of the last 50 years.
And who celebrated causing a high ankle sprain on Ben Roethlisberger as if they won the Super Bowl?
At least admit to being a hypocrite.

No, you are wrong. We are not hypocrites. We know that Turkey Jones play was a cheap shot. No one ever claimed it wasn't.
And because he wasn't seriously hurt, yes, we revel in it.
You are the hypcrite. All you have to say is "Yea, sure, it was a cheap shot, and I loved it."
We would all likely have more respect for you then.

Harrison was a Clown killer.. McCoy, Cribbs, and Mo Mass were his trophies.
But what I will always remember best for, (next to running 99yds. for a TD in the Super Bowl)
is...

Had any Brown player reeked that much havoc on Steeler Nation in the exact same manner as Harrison, you'd want a staue erected in his honor.
Don't deny it...you know you would.

Eric Metcalf. Josh Cribbs. But no statues necessary.
And FYI, Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly and many others ...reaped (not reeked) more havoc on the Steelers than anyone in Steeler history has ever reaped on the Browns.
(so, I see that you see Harrisons biggest accomplishment is a blind side hit on an unprotected, though stupid fan. I guess that sums up his career highlight.)

Not to get technical, but the word you're both looking for is 'wreaked'

It's funny how many good athletes come out of Akron only to go somewhere they become hated.
akron or kent state?
charlie frye and josh cribbs are the only other 2 guys to come out of those schools that i can name.
dri archer from kent state might get drafted but his size is worrisome.

Harrison went to Akron Coventry High School, that is what I meant, The weasel went to SVSM

I figured that was what you were getting at, or at least place of birth.

Mutual interest between Harrison and the steelers. I won't be surprised to see him back on a one or two year cap friendly deal.

A lot of Akron area high schoolers produced NFLers:
Cliff Battles went to Kenmore (HOF)
Beanie Wells, Antoine Winfield, Dave Browns went to Garfield.
Ricky Powers, Johnny Adams, Bryan Williams from Buchtel
Mike Vrabel from Walsh
Tyrell Sutton from Hoban
Frank Stams from St. Vincent/St. Mary
