Westside Steve WKNR podcast

Nice job WSS. I also thought you had a really good radio talk show voice. You could have your own Cleveland Browns podcast! Actually I bet if a few people on this board made a podcast it'd be pretty damn good.
-
"ahem".
football board.
Browns football.

Having met Steve in person, it's amazing he has a voice with such
tremendous range.
I vote Steve. I missed yesterday though, forgot and was working outside.
Sounds great, should WIN ! (btw, that has to be one of the hardest to sing choices
Steve had, imho)
-
I kept thinking that Steve could do a knock-out impression
of Frank Sinatra if he tried...

I think steve could do an impression of a knocked-out Frank Sinatra quite well

Steve - did you hear the guys on before you? Specifically, where one of the judges was saying about wishing they'd done something original, rather than a cover?! Nervous moment?
-
Good job Steve! I really enjoyed it. First time I heard that song I think.
-
Great job Steve. You are very talented and no wonder you have largely been able to make your living as a singer/entertainer.
Hope you play the Eastland again this fall when the Browns are in town.
Beanpot will be there.

Just busting your balls a bit my friend, I appreciated the shout out. I'll be there with the same hat I have worn for nearly 2 decades. The girls might not think I look all that good, but they like my hat.

"Alright folks stay tuned for the Cal & Woody show!"
Lol God no I was thinking football not politics. Most of the mock drafts I see from ppl here are 10x better than what we get from national media types, and there's quite a few ppl who seemed more informed than Rizzo on WKNR, who for example stated that Bridgewater started throwing WITH a glove on his pro day which effected his performance.

glitches rhymes with stitches and bitches....
hey i'm already better than the rappers. (didn't they try and spin a frank sinatra song and then rap over it)?
sacrilege.
-
went back and listened to the whole pre-interview/song/post-interview.
class act.
hopefully see you in put-in bay later this year. maybe you'll be wearing the trophy from this comp around your neck by then.
-
thanks for the kind words guys. I listen to all the other contestants and there is only one that I wouldn't feel bad about losing to. The fix might be in but we will see! They announce the three finalists today.

Announcements being made right now.
First guy is the Rachmanioff piano player....Alexander Marr.
I know Steve loved this guy.
-
Second choice:
Megan Zurkey? Kind of a chick folk singer
Wrote and played and sang her own song.
They seemed to think that writing and performing your own song was important.....which Steve did not do. (though he could have played many of his own songs)
-
Third choice:
Jay and The Walkers. These are the kids that sang on the same day as Steve.
Alternates: The Real Californians.
Here is my take on it: All the people they chose appeared to be in their 20s. Jay and the Walkers were teenagers.
As much as they liked Steve I think they wanted to choose kiddies....and not a guy that has been in the music business for over 45 years.
-
Well it is what it is. To be honest I thought the Rachmaninoff kid was the best of the 10 and I have no hard feelings about losing out to him. He alone did what he did better than anyone else did what they did in my opinion. Even me.
And yes it's a little annoying that they threw in that song writing caveat but it was pretty clear she was in the loop.

you also have to look at the platform you were dealing with. WKNR? really?
i mean i know radio in NY blows. i can just imagine the tools in cleveland, especially 2 guys on a gossip slot.
obviously they know dick.
i wouldn't pay a nickel to see any of those people gip mentioned ahead of you.
have the winner and runner-ups do an edmund fitzgerald anniversary celebration and see if they can sing and play the piano with a chest full of lake erie.
