Before the Purge Begins With Everyone On This Board.....

The Browns Board

  • robinson falls squarely in the middle of the pack of the WRs that will go in the first-early second round this year IMO.

i've liked what i've seen of him doing the tv circuit and at the combine. he just lacks something for me and i don't know what it is. explosiveness? YAC?

don't get me wrong i wouldn't be upset with the pick. he comes off as a classy, humble guy BUT it's almost like he's too humble. like no fire there.

    4. carr QB - fresno state the way this guy is moving up, the pressure to pull the trigger on a QB and the fact that rumors have him linked to cleveland.........don't know if they'll take the chance that he lasts until 26.

    26. beckham jr. WR - lsu here @26 we get our #2 receiver. hopefully he's there.

35 mosley LB - wisconsin a lot of people have him projected going higher and i'd much rather use the pick on CB but if mosley is there pettine will be drooling.

lot of if and or buts and if given a choice i'd rather trade down and do things differently but that was the question before me, so.................

Wouldn't be a bad draft to be honest. Beckham is a hot commodity too not sure he'd last till 26. Mosely is another popular player. Wouldn't complain on May 8th. Feel free to talk about your trade down scenario as we've seen that's not unheard of either.

I'm huge fan of the Mosley pick. If he falls to 35 he'd be the best pick for us of the top three. Could you imagine getting him and Shazier? I know thats out there...but having Dansby/Mosley/Shazier would be a nasty middle.

I'm with ya on Allen Robinson. I'm trusting the WR rankings on this one, but I'm not overly excited about him. Odell gets my vote over him all day. To be honest, I like Donte Moncrief over Robinson as well. He has the, better speed, and good hands. His biggest knock is that he's not known to be great in winning the jump ball...but if that's his major knock, I think he'd be a huge pickup in the 3rd. Heck, Gordon isn't outstanding with the jump ball and he sure produced.

but besides QB (not that we HAVE to take one) the 2 biggest needs we SHOULD address (and i've been screaming this for 4 years now) is adding a #2 WR and a #2 CB and 2 of the best at those positions will be taken i say by the time draft day rolls around is evans at around 8 and gilbert at around 11.

Evans and Gilbert are my top 2 guys as well, though I haven't figure out how we could rationally pull that off.I do see Gilbertrange from the first to the third CB off the board. The only feasible way would be for him to fall to the 15-20 range somehow. Choosing between the 2, I take Evans and grab a top 5 CB if possible.

i don't know if you could rationalize (if we stay @4) taking evans with the first pick considering that watkins is the consensus #1 WR in this draft. it all comes down to what player is a better fit in cleveland. watkins and evans are completely different players. watkins can take a screen and turn it into a 50 yard dash to the endzone. evans is more physical and would win the battle for the ball over almost anyone on the field.

i mean look how good he made JF look.

    hehehehehehe

i wouldn't be mad at any pick @4 considering the talent up there. i think if we could parlay 2 picks in the first to 3 we could hit on WR, CB and QB (unless pettine is screaming LB at that point).

  • I am no longer participating in the speculation game about who the Browns should pick. I am at this point simply angry about the league pushing the draft back. The draft should be held this week. Or at least next week to avoid a conflict with Easter. Three more weeks of this and yes, we would all go bat shit crazy.

  • #4= Watkins

#26= best CB available (Dennard MSU, Jean Baptiste)

#35= Aaron Murray or Jimmy Garopollo

I just don't want to make any trades at all. With all these picks we've stockpiled, we should be absolutely fine (5 of top 83 picks).

If Watkins is gone in the top 3 picks, Farmer and company need to draft whomever is left at the top of their draft board. Also, take a flyer on David Fales or Kenny Guiton in the late rounds if they're available, and draft some offensive linemen as well.

  • 4th Mack

    26th Carr

    35th Best W/R left

the fact is, we dont need all these picks. We will make trades, I guarantee it. If we wanted to, Id bet we could end up with 5 of the first 64 picks. And please never mock Aaron Murray to us in the second round again....bleh

The draft would've been this week but didn't want it the same weekend as Easter. Then they couldn't have it next week because there is a conflict at radio city music hall which is why it was pushed back to the current dates.

  • Easter more important than NFL draft? blasphemy

  • 4- watkins or mack

    26- bridgewater

    2nd rd- best corner available

3rd rd- murray or mettenburger and best g or rb left

Here is an idea: hold it at a venue other than Radio City.

Hell, even hold it in a place other than NYC. Maybe the fans of other teams besides the Jets and Giants may like to attend.

I am not even advocating for Cleveland. We get the HOF game and the rookie symposium.

How about areas with multiple teams near by like the Bay area or DC/Balt.

    Personal foul, 15 yards 😁

  • Gentleman,

I've heard all the back and fourth since pretty much October 3, 2013. What you all do with the top 3 picks the Browns have? I'm talking 4th,26th, and 35th. Can be anyone you want, the idea is to start a conversation with a group of passionate fans. No more no less. It's a foregone conclusion that not all of us will agree but I'd rather a sensible conversation than all the non sense that goes on. I'm sure we as grown men and women (if any apply)...can discuss this sensibly. I'll start....

4th Overall: Sammy Watkins WR Clemson

I'd say we'll get the most bang for our buck out of this pick. I know I know...a lot of experts say the same. I got to agree with them here though.

26th Overall: Teddy Twatwater QB Lousiville

Seeing as there's a good chance he might be the best choice at 26 (With Bortles, Manziel, and Carr potentially scooped up). I know the pro day was awful. Can't argue he looks good on film though. I'm also good with this because I expect him to sit behind Hoyer anyway.

35th Overall: Kyle Fuller CB Virginia Tech

I like how this kid plays. Good cover guy and a hitter too. Laid the boom against some top notch talent this season.

Well those are the three picks I'd like to see. What do you all have in mind for 4.26, and 35. I respectfully request we keep the convo within this context. No attacks no name calling just football. I know we can handle this and have fun with it too.

I agree with your first selection. I think Watkins or Mack give us the best value at #4 as sure fire players. From everything I am reading though, I this was on BR some where earlier today, that the Browns are split between Watkins and Manziel. Apparently Haslem and Pettine really like Manziel while the scouts all want Watkins. So I guess it will come down to #1 who is available and then #2 whos input does Farmer care about more.

With the #26 pick I agree. I don't think anyone is saying that Bridgewater had a terrible proday, but rather it was average. They wanted to see more considering his stock was already sliding (for really no reason) and because he didn't do anything at the combine. However his tape speaks for himself. I think he has opened enough questions about himself to push him out of the top 5, but if he was still there at #26 he would be a steal.

With your 2nd round pick I can not agree. Not that Fuller wouldn't make a killer CB, but rather that he will be taken sometime in the 1st round, likely before we even pick at #26. There is a good chance that the top 5 CB will be gone by the time the 2nd round roles around, and if we want one we might have to take one at #26.

  • they might have to get bridgewater his own personal brady queef room.

  • 4) Greg Robinson or Jake Matthews

    26) Jimmy Garropolo

    35) Jordan Matthews
