Yeah, when Cal was little he was out walking around alone near the woods or something in winter. He fell through some ice and couldn't get out. Next he remembers he was on the ground with his donkey next to him.
Cals explanation: God came down from heaven, took over the donkey, and saved him. A miracle. Praise Jesus and praise god for specifically helping him on that day.
More likely though the donkey, basically a family pet, helped cal on its own. Dogs do that shit all the time without gods help.
But yeah, I'm making fun of him for that.
Another good one before you came was a thread he made about a neurosurgeon that came on to conservative talk radio show and said all tjis awful stuff about Obamacare. He talked about all of these bad things that were gonna happen and the audience, cal included, ate it up. Only problem was the dude wasn't a neurosurgeon, not even a doctor. He was just some random dude that lied. But he told lies the far right wanted to hear so he got to speak on this radio show. Cuz why check a source if its what you want to hear, right? Cal went on and on about this guy, then it turned out he was fake and cal avoided it.
That was my first experience here of cal finding awful, awful sources.

My college life has been full of hard work. Other students, other majors, have had way more of the "typical" experience. It has sucked a lot of times, but it was all with the future in mind. I've had fun though, I don't mind my college experience not being that crazy. I've loved my time here, even with a the hard work. I am a competitive dude anyway, I don't half ass things.
I worked my ass off to get into my top college, and I did. I worked my ass off to get a job with my top company, and I did.
But yeah, hard work, sacrifice, blah blah blah

AGREED. Not that I don't like you, Woody, but you need to enjoy the free time you have. You have finals coming up, right? Then after that I'm guessing a couple of months before starting work? Enjoy the fuck out of that, because before you know it, you'll be trapped in some crappy-to-decent job that you hate, and dreaming of having 2 months of no work, no responsibilities, no emails.

I don't mean this forum in particular - just make sure you take full advantage of only having a month of free time. It'll go fast, so use it well. When you get in from work at 7pm, and you get through your housework and cooking and eating and it's 8:30-9pm, you won't want to do all those things you plan to do. You won't feel like spending hours reading Proust, Wordsworth or Kant, and pondering life's complexities, trying to find the answers to everything. You're gonna wanna put on the TV, crack open a beer and veg for a couple hours, before you get up and do it all again the next day.
It doesn't really matter what you do, but I fully recommend getting the grill going, drinking a few beers with your friends - not enough to get drunk, you're trying to make memories here

For my part, it's more a lamentation on the way my life has changed since my university days.

I enjoy my life now. I'm fully aware I'm in the good years. I'm healthy I have enough money and my children are young. This is as good as it gets and its all downhill from here.
But still I miss my selfish years in my mid twenties. Leaving the military and living in nyc without a care in the world. Things will never be like that again and that's ok, but what a time
