That's not a valid point. Actually the fact that they won the super bowl 2 years ago is reason for them to have finished 8-8 last year. Thats what happens when you have a championship team....people want your players and will overpay for them. You guys know about that (Paul Kruger) amongst many others.

As for Smith....He is better than what you had last year because what you had last year was a huge gaping hole where Anquan Boldin used to be. Yes, Smith is better than a mannequin would be...Your grandmother would be better than what you had there last year. But Smith, at this point is probably closer in talent to your grandmother than to Boldin.

Fine...let's look at the past. The recent past. The Ravens are a declining team. They lost the last two game they played by a total of 51 points.
The Browns have double the number of Pro Bowl caliber position players.
The Browns and Ravens split last years games...and the one they lost, in Baltimore, they were driving for the tieing score, but barely failed to make it.
The Browns lost their starting QB to a knee injury.
The Browns have 2 first round picks this year that should, if done right, vastly help with their talent pool.
On the other hand, the Browns do have 2 bad things...and yes, they are big: A. An unsettled QB situation, if Hoyer isn't the man.
B. That history of losing...not being able to get it done.
But, on the other hand, we do have a new Owner, GM, HC, OC, DC etc.
Can these guys do what Browns regimes past could not? Who knows. But the luck may turn sometime.

The Ravens, yes, had a better record......but the Browns have the better overall talent. That QB position is a key where it seems the Ravens do have the edge. Is that one position enough to give the Ravens the overall edge? I would hope not. Last year even Jason Campbell won over Flacco and we all believe that Brian Hoyer is superior to Campbell...so it looks like maybe there is not much of an edge perhaps. Even Weeden came close.

With the QB position still up in the air it's harder to predict the final record, but there has to be a vast improvement over another 4-12.
even if we draft a rookie i think it'd be hard for farmer and pettine to throw him to the wolves that early in his career (especially with all the question marks these rookie QBs have) unless he is head and shoulders above hoyer in all aspects of the game. i know hoyer hasn't started a whole hell of a lot of games either but he sure as hell could handle playing pittspuke week one a lot better than some greenhorn that's still wet behind the ears.

They've actually moved from Strike City to Kennedy's as of last year, unless there's a second "official" Browns Backers group in the area too. I was pretty drunk when I was there and the guy kept trying to sell me on shirts and raffle tickets and all I remember is that he said "official" way too many times.

That's how I've always handled trolls. Smash them in the face as soon as they walk in the door. Even if they say "I'm not a troll, I just want a good game with no injuries" ... smash them in the fucking face.

That's how I've always handled trolls. Smash them in the face as soon as they walk in the door. Even if they say "I'm not a troll, I just want a good game with no injuries" ... smash them in the fucking face.

yeah the K2 experiment was fun for me but didn't push enough buttons. i was relying on homophobes and rednecks but none would dig in. everyone was actually pretty tolerant and just ignored him. i've had much more success simply posting as fringo and being annoying...kinda just comes naturally late night anyway.

didn't Frye get benched for DA right after the 1st quarter? IIRC he did...then they played the Bungles week two and he lit it up. first play he hit Braylon for a TD on a go route down the left side. that game was a barn burner...both teams combined for over 90 points. that game gave them back their confidence the first game stole.
anyway...i totally disagrew w the apprehension. to me that schedule looks soft and they gave us a gift. there isn't a single unwinnable game on it.
i see us winning10 games...maybe more.
Carolina, Indy, and N.O. will look past us, good teams always do. it's the games we're supposed to win I worry about the most.
