1a- S. Watkins- Big time playmaker that is a mix between Percy Harvin and Randall Cobb. Watkins is capable of taking it to the house at any spot on the field including the backfield.

1b- R. Shazier- Freak athlete with huge upside. His ability to cover can keep him on the field at all times.

2- T. Bridgewater- Too good of a fit for the WCO to pass on 3 times.

3a- P. Gaines- Gaines is my 3rd rated cb in the draft and would be a steal this late in the draft.

3b- D. Archer- primarily a return man, but a combination of Archer, Watkins, Hawkins, Cameron, and Gordon all on the same field will put defensive coordinators on suicide watch

This addresses my main concernson our team. I know a lot of people want to add an offensive lineman, but between, Greco, pinkston, gilkey, fragel, faulk, mcquinstan, and a couple late round guys, we should find 2 competent starters.

We would still need to address depth at ILB and corner, but I think this puts us in really good shape next year

I like some of it ....... I would go Chris Borland with 3b and also prefer Zettenberger to Bridgewater ....

like mettenberger myself, he has the best arm in the draft, but he doesn't really fit the wco. I can see Houston taking him at 33.

I also like Borland but in this draft I picked up Shazier to play inside linebacker. I would still pick up an Andrew Jackson in the 4th for depth

              WCO?

i don't think shanahan has identified his scheme yet. where do you get WCO?

i knew you'd find a way to draft bridgewater as soon as i read the thread title.

I may be wrong, but isn't that what he usually runs? Yea Bridgewater is my guy, unless we run an offense that doesn't suit him like the air Coryell

i tried to find out by searching the web and could find out definitively what he runs. he said in an interview that he runs his offensive scheme around the talent on the team.

                  • β€œWhen you talk about scheme, I think scheme is a little bit overrated. Call the plays that work for your players,” said Shanahan.

i know he used a lot of different schemes when in washington (the 'pistol' with RG3) and is a big fan of the running game, which he learned from his old man, turning running backs into 1k yarders. the FB is important to him so i could see him drafting one late in the draft, even though we signed pressley.

                  • Shanahan said the Browns will use the fullback as much as anyone in this league. That probably made new fullback Chris Pressleyicon-article-link.gif’s day.

I wouldnt hate any of that except for Dri Archer. That is way to high to pick him. He is a 5th round or later guy.

I think Archer is going to go in the 2-3 round. There is too much potential for some teams to pass on. In the third round you aren't looking for starters you are just hoping to get production, so a kick returner/offensive weapon fits the bill. Also the guy averaged like 9 ypc or something ridiculous like that.

I'm not saying its a safe pick, but it could be very rewarding.
