9-7 2 years in a row... oh i feel so sorry for those poor Packer fans... wtf i would love a couple of back to back 500+ seasons. And how the hell is saying Manziel could be the next Favre if he tones down the schoolyard shit and gets the right coaching a bad thing?

if 9 and 7 is all you strive for that's pretty lame.

You took it wrong. I would love to win it all but it all starts with putting a couple of winning seasons together and that hasn't happened yet since the return. Not back to back anyways.

  • Guys were not picking Bo Callahan at 4. We're getting Vontae Mack so who cares what the Walrus thinks

  • Look at how many franchise QBs entered the while fat fuck dined on Lerner's money.

    Just shut up.

  • A lot of the Draft pundits are coming out saying Manziel is a Boom or Bust type pick.

Latest says the Rams are genuinely interested in him - at #2 or #13 I don't know, but that's the latest.

Pretty much everyone has been saying that all the QB's this year need to sit and learn, and that Bortles is the long term most likely to succeed.

After all the hoopla late last year, I can't believe how badly this QB class has just fallen apart after it was supposed to be so stellar.

  • Well. Now I'm sold on Manziel.

that Walrus gave us McCoy and Wee-don't. Nice track record there Mike- now STFU. I'm in on the reverse logic- if Fat Daddy hates him, he's going to be a stud.

Z, will you auto correct "Holmgren" to "Fat Turd"?

The Rams are only doing due diligence- to see how much JF is worth as trade bait. With Bradford on board, it would be the shock of the draft if the Rams took Manziel. Their GM should be fired on the spot if they took JF ahead of Clowney or one of the OTs.

  • That settles it then....Homie not seeing it means Johnny Football is going to be a star.

    Take him.

An opinion from Holgrim, trying to find the right file for that, Maybe its under who gives a Rats Ass on anything you comment about. You will never be welcome back to our house...

  • Thank you,Mike...Now shut up you ignorant slut!...Take JF Puhleeze!!

Holmgren was not choosing the talent in GB or in Seattle when those teams went to the SB.

I believe it was Ron Wolf in GB.

Lets hear what Ron Wolf has to say....Not Jabba the Hutt (to relate this to another thread)

  • When has being compared to Favre on the field been a bad thing?

Holmgren is fucking Retarded. I am wishy washy on Manziel but this might just budge me towards wanting the guy.

  • Will St. Louis Rams take quarterback Johnny Manziel at No. 2? They should

    The Rams like Johnny Manziel.

That's the latest hot rumor this week, and the first of many draft rumors. The final few days before any draft are full of rampant speculation. Considering there are very few picks in this draft that anyone can pinpoint who is going where, get ready for a lot of people using clues to figure out what will happen starting Thursday.

And the latest rumor is the Rams' interest in the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner. Even if it's just people putting two and two together, this is one that makes perfect sense. Because the Rams should be looking to take Manziel.

Here's where the smoke started. MMQB's Peter King reported the team worked Manziel out in Texas on Friday and then coach Jeff Fisher and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer had an 80-minute meeting with him afterward. And King reported Rams general manager Les Snead went to meet with Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury, who was Manziel's offensive coordinator at Texas A&M two seasons ago, and "came away thinking Manziel could adjust to life well as an NFL passer." King says the Rams "like him a lot" and wonders if they might take Manziel with the 13th pick.

Well, even King admits it's unlikely Manziel will be there with the 13th pick. But the Rams hold the second pick too. That's interesting. The Rams are doing quite a bit of homework on Manziel just to take Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson at No. 2.

ESPN's Adam Kaplan says it's a "popular theory" among NFL executives that the Rams will take Manziel second overall. And it makes sense. Sam Bradford has had four seasons and hasn't given the Rams any reason to believe he's special. He's been functional at times. He was on his way to his best season last year before he tore his ACL, so there was hope that he was turning a corner. But Bradford has a cap number of more than $16.5 million next year, the last year of his contract. Are the Rams going to give him a Jay Cutler-like extension? Why would they, especially when they have a pretty enticing Plan B?

St. Louis could draft Manziel and just see what happens with Bradford. If Bradford is finally great in 2014, that's a good problem to have. Someone would trade for him. Or you make Manziel wait another year. If the worst-case scenario for St. Louis is "Bradford is too good to let Manziel into the starting lineup," I think the Rams would sign up for that.

On the flip side, what if Bradford is just average again and you passed on Manziel, a potential franchise quarterback you like? The Rams have a very good roster; they won't be drafting in the top 10 next year. Now you're stuck with the core of a really good team but still no quarterback to run it and no easy way to acquire a good one. Because the second pick comes from the Robert Griffin III trade, it's a unique situation for the Rams. They can still get a good tackle or impact defensive player at No. 13. The second pick of the draft can't be considered a "luxury pick" of course, but it is a very unusual opportunity that won't present itself again anytime soon.

There's the small matter of whether Manziel will even be there with the second pick, and while folks assume he will be, nobody knows what the Texans will do at No. 1. There are still rumblings the Texans like Khalil Mack more than consensus top prospect Jadeveon Clowney. And they do need a quarterback. If Clowney falls to No. 2, the Rams have another interesting debate on their hands. They can take Clowney, or trade the pick because there won't be any problem finding a team that wants to move up.

Or, the Rams can make the most interesting pick of the draft and select Manziel, if he's there. That would be a fun scenario. For the Rams, it would be prudent, too.

    "LOL"

    - Aaron Rogers, Ben Roethlisberger, Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Joe Flacco, Steve Young, Brett Favre, Troy Aikman, John Elway, Joe Montana, Terry Bradshaw, Phil Simms, Roger Staubauch, Bob Greise, Bart Star, Ken Stabler, Kurt Warner, Len Dawson, Joe Namath.

    Aaron Rogers

Packers defense ranked fifth in yards allowed and finished second in least amount of points allowed (240, second best in team history), sacks (47), and interceptions (24) in 2010-11.

    Ben Roethlisberger

2005-06 steelers ranked FOURTH in yards allowed and finished THIRD in points allowed

2008-09 steelers ranked FIRST in yards allowed and finished FIRST in points allowed

Eli + Peyton Manning (Exceptions?) - Although the Giants defense was in the top half, maybe top 10

    Tom Brady

2001 pats 6th in points allowed

2003 pats 1st in points allowed

2004 pats 3rd in points allowed

    Drew Brees

Saints 3rd in interceptions, 5th in fumbles recovered (Turnovers can win too?)

    Brett Favre

Packers #1 in points allowed the year he won.

    Joe Flacco

I personally believe Joe Flacco's are not terribly hard to come by. He had an elite team around him on both sides of the ball.

I just wanted to point out how ignorant you are. Not discrediting any of those QBs because they were/are all good-great, but usually the teams that win have a top 10 defense (quite a few are top 5). Even in the "modern era" of the NFL.

But forget logic, Johnny Football is all we need, right?

    He wants none of this.

He wants Johnny Football at all cost. How many high power offense NEVER wins a champsionship? Didn't the best offense just lost to the BEST defense AGAIN?!!

    Pure BS.

They want to trade DOWN, so they are PIMPING EVERYONE. One day it's Robinson, then Manziel and there's rumor of Watson too...even MACK.

Friends of mine had something for you: When they were playing golf and if a player's tee shot fails to make it to the Lady's Tee he had to play that hole with his dick sticking out of your pants.

So, metaphorically lets just say you are doing that: sticking your dick out.

  • I am so sick of hearing and seeing his name.

  • I love how polarizing Johnny Douchebag is. You either love him, or hate him.

More of us hate him, but those that love him are louder about it.

Agreed. I think he will be an outstanding QB.
