People are now outraged he's partying in Vegas including a lot in the sports media circle in Cleveland, it's completely ridiculous.
well he must have known if he did it there'd be people bitching about it. he's not that dumb.
doesn't mean those people are right. you know there are people that think if you're the QB of the football team they root for you better thinking about football 24/7. sorta like peyton manning or tom brady. hell they might party more than JF. you just don't hear about it.

It's memorial day weekend. Shit I can't remember half the BBQ parties I attended at his age.
Fuck, I am on the computer looking up pricing for a Mongolian spear axe. lol Exciting shit I tell yeah......... LBC Mike
Pool side drinking a beer with bikini clad chicks, ringside at UFC fights, parties.... Tuesday work (football) Manziel

i agree. i had more fun in the 1980s and early 90s being young and single than anytime since. reality set in.
the assinine segment to this whole story isn't about his action IMO it's how this reporter in your link categorizes certain things as if the off the field stuff is what makes JF, JF. i would hope that even the most diehard JF fans don't like that tag on him.
i mean any team that would have drafted him as the browns did were not going to do so cuz the guy hangs out with celebrities and knows how to party.

Let's see - JM has no family or friends, for that matter, in Cleveland. He has been praised for being quiet. How many of the front office or veteran players do you think invited him to their family barbecues this weekend? So the critics expected him to sit in his hotel room all weekend?
I noticed a familiar face in a couple of the pictures - Jonathan Stewart, a teammate from the 2012 Aggie team. Stewart was a senior on the team and good friend of JM. I consider the fact that they are still good friends as a good sign. Also Stewart was always a very upstanding member of the team with never a hint of any impropriety. Stewart's father and uncle were both judges ( 1 was a Federal judge) in Shreveport LA. Stewart is sitting next to JM at the fight and is seen in the group scene with Gronk and bikini clad girls.

umm. i don't know. do you know how many players invited him to their family weekend bbqs? are you saying no one did?
see even that little statement comes off as smart-assed. so you put a whole big shit umbrella over every player on the browns and their front office as though they are turning their backs on JF. i betcha there were a lot of invitations and you know what, i betcha he blew them all off. i mean to be able to pul 'JOHNNY FOOTBALL' to your little old bbq would have made you da man! but at his age who wants to hang out on the shores of lake erie when you've got front row tickets in vegas hanging with celebrities and splashing babes with champagne? hell anyone in their right mind at his age would have done the same. (me being older i would have loved to been on the shores of lake erie no matter what the weather.
just don't make it seem like no one in cleveland gives a fuck about the kid and that that was the reason he went to vegas, because we all know it wasn't.

I certainly wasn't trying to paint his Cleveland teammates as being uncaring. Just trying to point out that he is in a totally unfamiliar environment and has been told to keep his head down and keep quiet. So you think he was invited to the Hoyer family barbecue? Great! I think based on the pictures, a case could be made for JM and his old friend Stewart planning a weekend trip to Vegas and just ran into others pictured. I read somewhere that Las Vegas is a place JM likes to go because he is treated more like regular person there since so many more famous people go there.
-
So none of you have ever been to Vegas?
A bunch of saints around here.

i dunno. but i'm sure some guys had to have asked him what he was doing. he prob had it planned way before the weekend, i mean you gotta make travel plans etc.
to me this is no big deal. to some it'll be something. after seeing what other players for the browns were doing this weekend i already know the comments that are coming.

I don't give a shit what he does, as long as he isn't arrested or suspended from the NFL. As long as he plays well and wins games, that is all that matters.

closest i ever got was tempe. AZ where i lived for a couple of years after getting out the army. i mean it's everything vegas is without the gambling. hottest college girls around, playing sandpit volleyball every night, tubing down the river with coolers ful of beer in a party ring..............yeah, vegas.
been to AC though. it reminds me of vegas in a bad way. stumble out of the casinos walk the wrong way and you're dead. no thanks.
-
I've actually been to Vegas multiple times. Not into gambling but a lot more to do there than that. Just for the puritans info, Gilbert is apparently in Miami with several other players, so I guess no one is studying their playbook.
-
It's time to wreck this league

We own a Timeshare in Vegas and we are going to go for the first time this year. since we bought it. LOL. Paid off. Used to go at least once a year.

Exactly! Browns fans think the reason the Steeler are better is because they cheat, Steeler fans laugh at the sour grapes and probably come off as pompous. Steeler fans know the Browns have lost their former dominance and don't present much of a rivalry but Browns fans despise hearing that.
I understand that constant losing creates "emotional" behavior. For example, I grew up listening to the Pirates every night on the radio, and then they became constant losers and it sucked.......but the big difference is that I am not passionate about baseball and Browns fans are extremely passionate about football. I would like to think that even if the Steelers went in the shitter for 50 years I would not become belligerent like I see Browns fans being, but who knows.
There is also logic in the saying "losers hate winners and winners hate losers".
We love to hate each other. So when the steelers go on the downslide and the browns are on the upside, you still gonna come and post.

Same here. Who gives a shit? Did he get arrested? Did he punch someone?
No. He's a kid and went out for a night on the town. Can't blame him for wanting to have some fun.
The league is full of young kids. Young kids with lots time. And young kids love to party.
As long he stays out of trouble and plays well... Who gives a shit what he does?

This....is a great post!
And then you read and listen to nimrods (fans as well as supposed professional media) who think that Manziel is a lock to pull the Browns out of the doldrums and he should be named the starter today. If you take all of the national opinions on Johnny, he comes out about average for a late for first rounder but there are a ton of Browns fans that think he is the next coming of Manning and Brady combined. This constant insistence that this years version of the Browns is going to win it all is downright laughable.
This is the kind of football discussion that could go on here if it weren't for the mods who aren't man enough to allow people to be proven wrong instead of editing and deleting posts so that the world can only see what they want to be seen.
Careful guy- you've just insulted Johnny's #1 fan, Walter White. Some of his fanboys have lost all objectivity. BTW, it's not me that dicks around with Steeler fans- don't think Ive ever deleted one of their posts- and I certainly have never changed a screen name- I don't have enough board control to do so.

I'm hardly outraged. IIRC Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley are regulars there. Sarcasm alert: Maybe he can lose that few million Nike fronted him while he's there.

I came, I saw, I left. Prettiest sight in Nevada- seeing Las Vegas in your rear view mirror. Kidding- it's a nice enough place if you like to gamble- which I don't. It's also a great jumping off place to some major National Parks like the Grand Canyon, Zion, and Bryce- all within a 4 hour drive.

He was the LB coach in Cleveland from 99-02.
Pretty good resume.
-
love farmer, the new front office and coaching staff BUT if you ask me farmer is talking TOO much. i know he's getting a lot of questions about his rookie QB he drafted but if he wants to keep the media from bum rushing cleveland then maybe he needs to check his own front door.
it's one thing to be a barrier between the players and the media if you've been in that situation before, but it's another when the camera and reporters are all new to you.
easier to stick your foot in your mouth when it's always open.

I like this view on the manziel in las vegas situation
