  • It got hijacked by the we-hate-Manziel-fans circle jerkers.

  • I posted this question earlier and the admins deleted it. Why are posts being locked when people still want to comment? The Ben Tate thread has almost 1500 views and yet some admin unilaterally decides to stop the discussion. Are the admins so afraid of differing viewpoints? The point of a forum is to have a discussion. If not, this place is pointless.

  • It seems an admin on this site keeps deleting posts they don't like. This unethical behavior makes me wonder they run a discussion forum in the first place.

  • I've posted some outlandish shit and they've let it stand. So I'm not sure what your talking about. It just depends doggy. There is only one area for Football specific talk in the here, usually dedicated to the most pressing issues and agendas. There is a topic on nearly everything, as long as your 94 posts are not redundant and annoying they would most likely let it stay. But if it's gay trollness cocksucking manlove... then well, well, it still might stand. For them to delete something it has to be a John Bobbit holding his chunk post op before the doc post to get it pulled homie.

    PoeticG, I respect you and thanks for the response but my posts had absolutely nothing wrong with them. My deleted posts were asking why the Ben Tate thread was locked when people were still commenting on it. Who decides what is annoying? If people want to have a discussion they should be able to do that. Those who don't like it can ignore it. But to silence those who don't share your view? Why even run a forum if you don't want ideas exchanged.

  • It's not so much about you or your post as much as people that have been around here for a long time have already been through a lot of these discussions that get "high jacked into a totally unrelated discussion", it turns out to be a 50 page slap fest that has nothing to do with the original post... people get fired up and then feelings get hurt and a rift is driven between the board. It's better to quell the side-quest and get back to the main mission.

    There's that... and then there's the battle between QB factions that have been raging since 99, most famous was the Anderson/Quinn feud. Now we are on the verge of a totally different QB battle between Hoyer/Manziel and it's likely a battle that will be long and bitter in the end...

    - Then there's the obligation to Ben Tate as well, the player and the person, he's a guy that has embraced Cleveland and it's been a breath of fresh air from other FAs that have come here and they just want to show the love by keeping Tate's discussion strictly Tatish... although, I think that this kid West is going to be better than Trent Richardson, well, better than I thought Trent would be. 😳

  • Yeah, I've seen the admins delete stuff too, or edit peoples posts because they don't like someone's opinion, but then leave racist posts completely untouched.

    What was the point of locking the Ben Tate thread only to say if people want a Ben Tate thread we can start another one? It just doesn't make a lot of sense.

    As for obligation to Ben Tate, he is a public figure earning millions to not only play football but to deal with what comes with being that football player. Free speech means people can disagree or agree with what he does or have different interpretations of it. That's no reason to lock or delete a thread.

  • When something is censored or deleted, you wouldn't know it. Your comment on things that "will not be tolerated" indicates you're generally okay with censorship. That said, the posts in question had nothing to do with the things you mentioned.

    As I said, the posts that were deleted were asking why the Ben Tate thread was locked since people were still replying and it was an active discussion.
