  • - however - if we make the post season, I'll be flying to CLE! well maybe for the superbowl! Banbury is about 40 mins away so not that far. Where in london are you?

Re other UK BBW clubs - I'm not interested. Me and my mate G were asked to do a video at the Browns stadium a few years back and the abuse we got for it from so called Browns fans was unreal. It was out of the blue and shocking - so they can go fuck themselves for all I care. They are not all assholes but enough are. I'll stick to my real Browns pals in Ohio!

    i like your style!

BTW, I have cousins in Ireland and they don't mind taking vacations. They'd be happy to talk to the communists that gave you a ration of shit. I saw the video. It was well done

and captured all that is good about loyal Browns fans.

I live in L.A County California, and the Browns are not highly thought of by most, but we do have some die hard fans here.

Die hard? Actually never say die

The fans are recognized as either the best or one of the best fan bases in football, and rightly so.

Almost everytime I meet another Brown fan here, it's like we already know each other.

i don't get this. are you posting your own thought or are you posting someone else's thought?

gotta learn how to use the quote button. no disrespect intended.

Sorry. I think I need new glasses.

These are my thoughts (or maybe the voices in my head...)

The only way I can tell a Steelers fan from a Browns fan is...the Steelers fan has 6 rings.

Yes, and the fans of Northeast Ohio teams have 13 rings....there is a definite difference there.

So you need more education on this subject?

Actually the difference is that you experienced none of them....so tell me your dad is rich after I wave a wad of $100 bills in your face LOL.

A 58yr. old Pittsburgh fan for example in his lifetime would have experinced Pittsburghs pro teams bringing 11 championships to the city...a 58 yr. old Cleveland fan 0. (I'm not counting the 1960 Pirates either)

That's pretty sad, I don't care how you want to spin it.

A classic example of the haves and the have-nots.

Looks like the Indians got something good goin on though.

  • I'm in Northern Japan. I have about 4 friends nearby that we watch the brownies together. Being that I am military it helps lol! I grew up 20 mins from youngstown.

  • To be honest, I meet a lot of americans that are generally passing through - on placement, internship, studying for 6 months or a year or so. Whenever I tell them I'm a browns fan, the general reaction is, "oh man, I feel for you" followed by "you could pick any team, why them?!"

Actually, not true. I experienced 3 of them....probably more than you have experienced Steelers titles.

Sure...you had the dumb fucking luck to be from Pittsburgh....and that's it. You didn't contribute a cabbage fart to any of those titles...any more than I have contributed to any of the bad teams we have had.

Looks like the Indians got something good goin on though.

If you think playing .500 ball is "something good".

  • I'm in Bermondsey at the moment. It's nice and quiet, and easy to get to the office in Canary Wharf, so ticks all the boxes for me! Originally from Bedford though.

Seriously, people gave you stick for that? Idiots. I'm a Browns fan loosely through family I have around Columbus, and of course Randy Lerner being owner (for now) of my beloved Aston Villa. But it feels like I'm getting on board at the right time, it feels like big things are coming our way soon, I'm really like the Farmer/Pettine duo we stumbled into!

The Browns are class no matter what the standings - so wi or lose - it's a love thing - but yes, this does feel good but I'm not booking my flight to CLE to watch the SB downtown just yet. A winning season would be nice, it's been 7 years!

There were one or two other Brit yumping yidiots that gave Howie and G-Man shit about being the Brits that were on camera representing UK Browns fans. To me it seemed like pure jealousy. There were other UK Browns fans that didn't react that way, so it was just a couple of assholes (or what is your version of calling someone and asshole)

We here on this side were very pleased to see Howie and G-Man do that video.

By the way guys, WSS and I have a high school classmate friend that lives and works in Bristol.

Not sure how close that would be to you, Howie.

I know it is a bit of a fair piece to Lundene.

Hey Gip, I know it was only a few, but I had some harassing me all over the internet - jealousy is an ugly thing. Bristol is about an hour and 15 away, I went to college there, great city for pubs!

Hey Slowburn, I'm half Irish too - hold off the dogs - all is good! Thanks about the video, I thought we were respectful enough, and we said a bunch about the other English fans and that we were not the only ones but they edited that out. We are just proud fans that happen to be English - no drama - pity others didnt see it that way.

  • I live in Savannah, Georgia but I'm a Youngstown native. Here in Georgia it's mostly about the Bulldogs and Gamecocks with a smidge of Clemson fans. Professional interest obviously leans towards the Falcons. There are some Browns fans here. Over the last few years the Browns have be gathering a little respect here. Most non fans I talk to say we're a player or two away from being good again. We don't get much hate here. I'd say it's more of a respectful indifference.

  • Having moved to Chicago in the last 9 months it has been pretty awesome to see how many Browns fans there are here, we have multiple browns bars within the city of which the one I go to draws at least 200 people per game, hell it was packed for the draft too. I walk around with my Cleveland shirts on and people stop and ask me what I think about JFF and even a Houston Texans fan stopped and taken Ben Tate with me for a good 15 minutes on the L. Overall fans of other teams who talk Browns with me hope for them to turn it around.

Even though it has been tough all these years loosing, there is a bond with all of us where if anything good happens, whether it be a win or a good draft or FA get when browns fans see each other its like talking to an old friend...

Overall unless they are just trying to troll (walking back to the condo from the browns bar on draft night a group of friends and I who were rocking browns gear got heckled by Bills fans...fucking Bills fans haha) everyone respects the city and the fanbase and I think when that time comes when the Browns are competitive and making runs into the playoffs everyone without skin in the game will cheer for the Browns.

it takes a special person to become a bona fide fan

That would be correct. It's beautiful up here!

  • Wow. It's very "school girl" to me that people are fans of a specific player, and so much so, that they become "fans" of the team he plays for, simply and only because he plays for them. So what happens when he doesn't pan out, or does pan out but moves on? Reminds me of the videos of the tweener girls crying uncontrollably because they just saw One Direction walk by on the way to their hotel........ Very weird to me, but I'm sure it's because I'm old.

  • My wife and I have Browns helmet light strands strung out on our RV awning, and we have traveled all over the country. Lots of people have commented on how cool the lights are, and think its great we back our Browns through thick (and mostly) thin. I usually reference the '86 Browns team as my favorite, while preaching that Dixon & Matthews should be in Canton, and the prevent D prevented joy- In my mind we were the best team that season. Most sports fans I have met in other states are just indifferent about the Browns, no rooting interest either way.

Funny story, even if its painful- last summer we went to Ireland. A bartender asked me where I was from, and he said "the Browns suck." I asked him how he knew that, and he said a guy he knows is from Cleveland and always cries about the struggles. He also said he only knows about 5 teams... the 49ers, Eagles, Bears, Steelers, & Browns.
