    Hmm, according to this, it was actually Ohio St. ...and then Indiana that had it.

    I guess it depends on what we are talking about. The OSU helmets seem to have a wing design in front, but the straps that might be considered stripes look like they are there for protection rather than as some aesthetic choice. Those Indiana helmets have the different colored stripes.

  • I saw that site too, it was the only one I could find that didn't say Princeton. The OSU helmet looks like it is just a two tone leather with extra padding in the front. The Indiana one looks much more similar. But like I said, pretty much everywhere else accredited it to Crisler
