Yeah I'm sure that's all over with now!

  • Now that the sideshow is over, and the ticket sales are up, and the marketing scheme that only benefitted the Browns front office has played out, I have one thing to say to the Browns front office. You damned well better put a product on the field we as fans can be proud of. Fans are getting real tired of the mediocrity ! The pyramids were built faster than this football team !

  • Thanks for that picture by the way, I officially have a new team photo for my fantasy football leagues.

  • Glad they named a starter. This at least quiets some of the distraction surrounding this team, and now they can focus on scoring TDs instead of "who's going to start." I hope Hoyer works out. Problem is, if he struggles at all... at all... even in the first game... the media, and fans, are going to clamor for Manziel... this hasn't gone away...

By the way, this in no way slams the door on Manziel. He was dead-even in a competition with a 5-year vet, and was passed over based on experience, something he cannot control. The kid is only 21 years old. He needs to mature, learn the offense, and get his feet wet a little more. I still believe he will be good, but I just hope we don't have to see him until next season...

    rookie photoshop job.

looks like the fake celeb xxx shots of jennifer lopez will her head on backwards sucking dong.

  • I just wish we had stability. It doesnt matter who they named starter. Being at best 1-2 after our first 3 games they will change qbs again. The one thing the browns never have....stability. Just commit and give us stability.

Well, clearly it's a rookie photoshop job. That's not my profession.

Twitter seems to like it though. 147 retweets so far. 😉

  • Best decision possible currently for this team. Hoyer's issues aren't his reads or pocket presence, he's sometimes had a bit too much zip on the ball or just a little off on accuracy.

Still... its the lesser of two evils. I'm just hoping the rest of the offense, especially the Oline will galvanize after their performance on Tuesday and that this offense can at worst be efficient.

  • he sure earned it....not....hoyer sucks.....now the browns get to lose their first three games......

so you reward the hometown sweetheart who played like shit.....oh yeah, that makes sense....

So you pick the guy that's done even less to earn it?

    Shhhhhhhhh.

  • Both qbs sucked and were even. Manziel keeps pissing management off. If you cant figure that out, your an idiot. All things being equal, you start who you foresee giving you less problems.

Dont worry, he will start by week 4. The browns cant commit long term

  • Best news I have heard out of Browns camp in a while. Now give the starter ALL of the reps and hopefully we'll some much better play out of the entire offense on Saturday.

  • Its a decision that should've been made a month ago.

Can't be happy with how this was handled. Pettine admits one guy was the guy the whole time, and yet you put the team through the last few weeks? For what?

Should've done what Jax did, say right away "Manziel sits, #6 starts" and if Manziel plays great then start to secretly consider it, but if not, nobody "lost" it was the plan all along. Don't agree with how this was done.

Sadly, Pettine has a boss as well. If you think Haslam hasn't severely influenced several decisions not only of the front office, but the coaching staff - then you're terribly mistaken.

  • Hopefully he doesn't play as embarrassing as he did in these preseason games. Haha not to say Manziel did any better. They both were garbage. But preseason is preseason.

He actually didn't play too terrible the first Pre-Season game - against Washington the whole Offense was dysfunctional.

I expected Hoyer to be the Starter from the get go, it's just the smart thing to do.

This Offense is just too complex and there's a lot too learn on top of coming from College to the NFL.

100% correct. Hell, Johnny Finger is the boss's draft pick, and we all know it (well, some of us know it). Jimmy got caught up in the excitement of JF's free fall, and enforced his will. It's his team and he of course has the right to do whatever he wants, but let's not get it twisted who drafted the Finger.

  • I also think this is the right decision to make. However, I think it should have been made after the Spring camps or after the Akron scrimmage ( as soon as they were comfortable with Hoyer's knee ). Why start a "not ready" rookie QB in an away game against Pittsburgh!
