Yep, but will it be Shaw or the Lil Guy?

  • For those who may not be watching the first half live I'll give my impressions good and bad.

    Pros:

Armonty Bryant is still looking great. Might be the biggest draft steal the Browns have had in a long time.

It's clear to me why Hoyer should start week one, he's got the game manager role down. Solid throws but the int was really bad for sure. I hope they give him the first series coming out of half as well.

Special teams have looked very solid. Poyer is quick and Benjamin looked like his ACL isn't going to slow him down.

    Cons:

Gilbert has had a hard rookie curve. I'd say 75% of the big pass plays the Rams had were on Gilbert including the long TD play.

Schwartz is still getting beat bad, man.

WR's still are dropping passes and not getting much separation.

    Misc:

Bradford went down holding his knee early. The look on his face to me anyway was one of "i've been here before and this is bad. I hope he's alright cause that sucks for him. Likewise 3-4 other Rams went off with injuries with their starting CB carted off the field.

Edit: Fixed Poyer to Gabriel, sorry

  • looks like this will be the last series for the ones

Manziel after this series. Depending on how Johnny does, he may get to play the rest of this game.

  • That's the type of throw I think you'll see Gilbert go for the pick the more comfortable he grows. Great straight line speed, long arms. Hard to put a ball over the top.

    Good defense.

  • Kirksey!!! For Real!!!

    Boom!

  • Great.... If the Browns pull this off you won't be able to turn on the fucking cooking network without hearing his name.

  • Hoyer just shit his pants.

  • Why? cause we scored from 14 yards out after a turnover. It was exciting but Kirksey is the star of that drive.

  • Great to see Johnny make a play.

    SC jizzing their pants

  • Hell yeah. I'll take that for Johnny's first fake rushing TD. His first fake passing TD was just ok for me.

  • Johnny with time and proper mental development could be a star.

Btw we have decimated the Rams, like 6 injuries or some shit? Bradford is a shame, guy cant stay healthy

    Bryant looking very stud like

  • Dig the kitchen

  • Gotta say, Manziel looks better than Hoyer. At least tonite anyway.

  • Manziel looks better than Manziel from last week - that should be your comparison.

You can tell early down and distance tonight he actually hung tough in the pocket. His wind up on that slant to Snead took a bit long, hence why the DT got his hands on the ball.

He didn't bail immediately which was very encouraging but you can tell when the offense needs a play he has a tendency to force things and not play within himself and/ or the offense.

Gilbert? Did some good things. Did some not so good things. He's a rookie, give him time.

I was of the opinion Schwartz needs some time to get going, but not so much anymore. There is no excuse to be beaten that bad by a 2nd tier pass rusher. Slide him to guard and give one of our more athletic tackles

a chance at taking the position. Aside from the one sack by Quinn, Joe Thomas did a fine job after that. Bitonio as well.

Hawkins did some good things tonight. West looked more decisive when he planted his foot. The offense found some rhythm at the end of the first half but these next two weeks are going to be very important for them before heading

    to Pittsburgh.

  • I see us taking another QB 1st round next year, when our D totally suck ass still, just like last year.

Coaching, Players, or Scheme . . . at this point I just no longer know, this Team is just horrible on all fronts . . . going to free up my weekends this year as I don't see this shit coming together any time soon

  • What's obvious on both teams is the DB's are playing off the WR's because of the way flags are being called. That's why soft spots are open in the zone like that.

Same here... our D stayed clear of the flags... and getting off the field. It's a pass rush game more than ever. Loved seeing a blitz lane open up on Dansby's sack.

    Kinda did it all tonite.

Schwartz simply cannot move... looked bad run and pass blocking. Problem is Wallace looked awkward at RT. He has been much smoother at LT. Maybe McQuistan?

JM did look at more at ease tonite, but so did Hoyer. Both looked like practice reps with the group they played with helped.

In BH we saw some of our 2013 QB. Unfortunately that some included BH vs the Vikes... you have to see that LB.

The fumble looked like a repeat of the earlier fake-pass/ hand-off play, but looked like West was the one faked out. Did not help that Schwartz had his whiff of the nite moment, but regardless BH has to secure the ball.

I can't see going with the traditional one series and good nite for our 1's Thursday nite. I'd be very tempted to give them a half... they need the work together. Hopefully player evaluations on the offensive side will allow this.

  • The kickoff return team looked great, and Hawkins played well
