Gotta say, I was impressed with Manziel's response to Merril Hoge's comments. He made the "media professional" look like a rank amateur. He exhibited savvy and maturity in his response that showed that if anyone is a juvenile punk, it's Hoge.
Obviously Manziel needs to be as effective on the field, but man when it (hopefully) happens will it ever be sweet.

Merril's earlier "punk" characterization of JM was over the top given the negative connotations of the word, but the core of the word's meaning is hard to argue with...

What I heard in his comments today (and I was not listening closely) seemed to boil down to "JM's not ready". I find it hard to be offended by what I agree with.

wasn't he just an avg fullback in the NFL? you know that guy that would occasionally get thrown to out of the backfield cause nobody paid attention to him.

I have doubts as well, but it's going to be a while before we objectively know whether JM will make it.
