If you can't look at the 2nd half performance from the offense and defense and say at least they didn't give up like in previous seasons, and actually fought back and started punching the Steelers right back in the mouth....than this is gonna be a long ass season for you. Might wanna just stop being a Browns fan altogether. Gotta lower your expectations here. In previous seasons with 1st year staff...this would have been a blowout from start to finish. Something was "obviously" done at halftime so that has to built on....right?

The 2nd half was great to watch until that final 5 minutes when the 1st half O and D decided to come back into the game and lose it for the 2nd half O and D

  • I was impressed with the way the coaching staff didn't freak out and abandon the game plan in the second half. They stuck to the plan and things started to gel on both sides of the ball. No place to go but up!

I don't think the game plan was to go no huddle for an entire half, it worked to perfection until the final drive when they needed it the most.

Exactly. This was heading right towards a 41-10 embarrassing loss at halftime. Adjustments were made and they came out strong and flipped the momentum and certainly had a very good chance to win a game in Pittsburgh, (when was the last time that happened?).

It was at least a good half of football and some positives to build on for next week against another very good team. The Browns could play a great game next week and still lose but I think that we beat the Ravens in week 3.

I think this here summarizes the whole situation.

Pretty much any other Team/Regime would have never done this, so why expect it now ?

  • Yayy Moral Victories! Moral victories!

    We ALMOST beat Pittsburgh. Hooray!

Yeah. Imagine if we executed in the first half even close to the second.

Gotta learn to win the close ones tho.

Guess you think a team with constant regime changes should dominate in their first real game and go 16-0.

There's a lot to be happy about going forward here. In the end its all about Ws but at least the second half team showed they should be able to win.

A big plus to me is the team didn't give up. They fought their way back from a 24 point deficit. Other browns teams would have just given up.

Hopefully the team can build on this going forward. But at least to me there is some hope with the way the team didn't quit today.

    .

That was gonna be my response. First game for a regime or not, the 1st half was unacceptable and laughable....like nobody could make a fucking tackle except for 1 or 2 guys upfront. We're supposed to have one of the best ILB'ers in the game and I barely noticed him the 1st half. But for the team to come back like they did, credit where it's due. Watching Ben's sour expression cause something wasn't feeling right after Armonty landed on him and smeared his big black cock all over him.....that was worth it right there. I really think we nicked up Roethlisberger today. He had a constant pained expression which is why I think he started making bad throws in the 2nd half. And if I had to point to one play it was the aforementioned tea bagging by Armonty.

No shit you said it. All you fucking losers saying the game was over when it was 10-3 should go find a new team to follow.

It was a loss, but for the first time in ages the team made adjustments at the half. When was the last time we had a shot at beating Pittspuke in shithole stadium?

The fucking negativity from you people is embarrassing.

we had no chance to win this game when the 1st half clowns showed up in the final 5 minutes

Your entire line of posts today have been bullshit. You call yourself a Browns fan?? They could have packed it in after the ass whipping they took in the first half but didn't. We came back out and played to win. Yes it sucks we didn't get the W but frankly how many "experts" expected that game to be close? With losing Tate and Cameron during the game we still played to win. The overall effort in that game will be W against plenty of teams. If we happen to add Gordon back into the mix we might be amazing. How about you pull FOR the team for awhile instead of being an anchor of fucking doom.

STFU already. We came back from 24 points down. When is the last time that happened. Did you see the positives, or are you only seeing the negatives? We lost yes, but it was close and only the first game. In Pittsburgh.

Eventually we'll have the right coach/gm combination, if these guys are the right ones then the team will probably learn something from this loss. If these guys aren't the right ones, then it will be a long year. I like what I saw from the team when faced with serious adversity. We haven't seen a team perform like that in a long time when behind. We'll see what happens next week.

Because I choose to see a team that was down 24 points at halftime came all the way back and had a chance. Were there mistakes in the last 5 minutes, absolutely. I think the punt was the right play, Lanning's punt was fucking perfect and the coverage team screwed it up. I think it's a different ending if pittspuke starts that drive on the 1 instead of the 20. The sack that Hoyer took on the Browns last drive also screwed up the play calling.

The difference between you and me at this point is that I'm willing to focus on the positives and things that we saw differently than we've seen any time in the previous god knows how many years. You and most of the other ass clowns in the tavern today only want to bitch and moan about everything.

Progress is winning, not looking like a bunch of scrub players from the 84 strike year.
