Eventually we'll have the right coach/gm combination, if these guys are the right ones then the team will probably learn something from this loss. If these guys aren't the right ones, then it will be a long year. I like what I saw from the team when faced with serious adversity. We haven't seen a team perform like that in a long time when behind. We'll see what happens next week.

Because I choose to see a team that was down 24 points at halftime came all the way back and had a chance. Were there mistakes in the last 5 minutes, absolutely. I think the punt was the right play, Lanning's punt was fucking perfect and the coverage team screwed it up. I think it's a different ending if pittspuke starts that drive on the 1 instead of the 20. The sack that Hoyer took on the Browns last drive also screwed up the play calling.
The difference between you and me at this point is that I'm willing to focus on the positives and things that we saw differently than we've seen any time in the previous god knows how many years. You and most of the other ass clowns in the tavern today only want to bitch and moan about everything.

There's a lot to be happy about going forward here. In the end its all about Ws but at least the second half team showed they should be able to win.
A big plus to me is the team didn't give up. They fought their way back from a 24 point deficit. Other browns teams would have just given up.

. Agree 100%! Seriously after the preseason games how many of us really expected to be tied with the Steelers at the 2minute mark at Heinz Field? The first half sucked sure but at the half we had veteran leaders take ownership of sucking and LEAD! I wish we would have won but I saw a team today in the second half that has a great chance to beat any team in the NFL. We had our top receiver (Cameron) and Tate out and fought on without missing a beat I am optimistic and excited to see more. One game. Season opener. Vs Pittsburgh (who as much as I hate to say it, is currently a mediocre team at worst).
New coaches. New players. New playbooks.
Yes it sucks they had to come out playing the way they did in the first half. But to make adjustments in the 2nd half that made it a ball game again? That's good news. In fact the best news we could ask for at halftime yesterday. Signs point to better things ahead for the Browns (and hopefully worse for Stoolers).
This has been a continuous thing for Browns - playing the game all four quarters. Had they showed up right away, that game easily was in the W column.
When they suck, yes it brings back bad memories but you can't kneejerk. Every year is different and throwing in the towel after week 1 (against a decent division rival team, at minimum) is not clear thinking.

Mad as hell that they lost their 10th opening day game, as well as another loss to Pittsburgh! However; I was encouraged by the way they went up tempo on offense in the second half, and think they should run with it a lot more going forward. So no, this team isn't worse than the 1999 team, and there is no way in hell the 99 team would've been able to run that no huddle as effectively as the team did yesterday.

Yeah people chill out. When I started this post it was 2:18 pm, and at that point in the game they were worse than the 99 Browns. Hats off to the comeback but the clowns reared their ugly heads in the final 5 minutes.
