These rankings appear to be absolutely bogus and superficial. It does not seem to take into account any wins/losses, or even any statistical factors. It is just one guys subjective rating. You have Brian Hoyer with -0- interceptions ranking below others with several ints.

Sorry, this is just something that has been pulled out of the ass of whomever wrote this.

Not that I am a big fan of the passer rating system, or the QBR, but at least they rely on objective statistics, not this seat of the pants opinion rating.

Need to preface any further comment by saying causal analysis to explain a failure is not the same as making excuses.

So far I can recall one bad throw that was inexplicable. The bulk of the bad can be attributed to throwing off his back foot due to pressure he is trying to avoid to get off the pass. There may have been a hint of "stay away from my leg(s)" in some of these cases. But even with that...

    - A couple of the worst looking ones (could have been confused with punts) were still thrown where only Browns players had a chance of catching them.

    - A few catchable drops were on the other end of back foot throws. Some were dropped by a Browns' WR, but a couple were dropped by an opponent's DB.

Week 2's underthrown deep ball to Benji was not a result of the above, but may have shown the limit of his arm.

On the other hand, BH has shown he is willing to stand in and take a hit if the play is there. Took a good shot from a DB blitzer with a free run just after delivering a strike to Hawk on this week's Series 3 Play 13 (short out on 3rd & 2).

Incompletions are the 2nd best outcome of any throw...

BH is our QB for his head... not his arm...

And his decision making has been very good.

Meh, some guy on BRs opinion. Hoyers been smart with the ball and already had a late game winning drive. I'm happy. I'm happier with him than several of the guys they have listed above him.

Hoyer has not turned the ball over and that's paramount.

    Game... Manager...

As long as we keep winning, we won't need anything else...

Hoyers ranking of 24th and our 1 win has already far surpassed what most of the asshole national media predicted. The rest is gravy lol

I'm not sure I buy the game manager label, I can see why people say it. But the guy has done his fair share of final scoring drives to get the W. He's pretty clutch.

He's not making any mistakes, he has engineered two terrific comebacks, and he has had No Gordon, and Tate and Cameron for little more than a quarter a piece. And he's holding off one of the most popular and exciting celebrities in sport through his hard work, passion and steadiness. If you want to give that a number, then give it a number.

    that^

he started on his own four yard line and had a 14 play, 86 yard drive of the last couple of minutes of the game, hit third and fourth downs to move the chains and gave us a win. How many QB's right now can say they could pull that off against the Saints Defense and Drew Brees? put a number on that one

Looking at the list, just realized that Hoyer is ranked ahead of Eli Manning...I do not know why I feel good about that lol

another thing I noticed was that most of the QB's ranked ahead of Hoyer lost their game...Hoyer won

Game manager is about not losing the game, but it does not exclude winning one, if circumstances dictate it.

I'd bet a fair amount that when trailing late Hoyer has made calls and throws he would not have made had the Browns been ahead. Not saying it's an all or nothing thing mind you... more of a throttle.

Hoyer does.. He makes the plays "when you absolutely need them".. Now what QB have the Browns had since 99,thats done that on a consistent basis..... That's right ZERO!

I tend to think Hoyer's still working through some things, meaning he's only going to get better. Have we seen him run at all this year? He used to do that if the yardage was there. I think the Buffalo half slide incident put a damper on that, but hopefully not the kibosh.

Not that l want him running willy nilly. That would be silly you hillbilly.
