dre Bly

Could he be a CB option or is he washed up?
-
Possibly an option, but he's a bit of a knob. He would be a decent nickle or possible spot starter over Bmac or Holly if he's back. He'll probably want too much dough.
-
isn't he like 600 years old?

playing across from champ bailey has to be a disadvantage since no one wants to throw his way. Also having the browns sloppy seconds on the d-line aint a good thing. he'll be starting somewere just dont think we want to stunt mcdonalds progress by taking him out of the starting lineup.

There's competition every year in the NFL and McDonald needs to step up and earn is starting job or step aside. He may have to compete against Holly, Bodden, a FA like Bly or a draft pic. Winning teams bring in the best players they can get and let them compete for jobs. If McDonald isn't up for it then he doesn't deserve to start.

I agree competition is a good thing but I dont no if I would want to just put a older guy in to be a quick fix for a year. Unless they really dont think Mcdonald has what it takes. But you gotta develope young guys eventually. Bringing in a guy like Bly, he would expect to start. Id be all for bringing in a young guy to compete and challenge for a starting position

How can you expect to resign Holly or go out in FA and get a corner if you tell them " we have two young guys and we don't want to stunt their growth so you will be a backup". You tell a FA or a draft pick that they can come in and compete for a starting job.

And if that is the case, they might as well keep Holly and tell him and McDonald that it is competition time like it should have been last year.
