  • Mingo looks like a basketball player wearing pads...

He needs to fill out that huge frame and he'll give offensive lineman something else to think about other than getting blown by.

Sheard and Kruger use their strength and quickness, Mingo is a one trick pony right now, who will probably start to make plays once opposing teams are in must pass situations.

And Bryant, the guy who most teams passed on for selling weed, does in fact look hungry out there, excited to see him earn more reps..

Mingo missed out on the HGH train when he could have used it to bulk up.

  • Z, Farmer did all the right things to try and turn this team around, no doubt about it.

  • My money says that Farmer's proposed picks last yr were rejected by Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber who had final say.

  • evidently mingo doesn't want to bulk up. he has done nothing to disprove the allegations of his cuntness.

    likely wasted first round pick

  • were't we marveling at some of the plays Mingo was making in the preseason? The dude is the most freakish athlete on the defense, a lot of us here have been wondering whether it might be a good idea to use him as a coverage LB'er given that we have Sheard and Kruger on the roster. Might it not be a bad idea to develop a LB'er that can follow some of the best athletes in the game, ie Graham or Davis, into the flat? We seem to be developing a pass rush strategy that relies on collapsing the pocket instead of running around it...which I kind of think makes sense if you have the guys to carve it off properly. Mingo may not be suited for that. I think he would make one of the nastiest blitzing LB'ers in the NFL.

Using him in coverage means he's not he as was billed. It means he's been less than marginal.. Not buying that load of crap... And no. I'm not sorry I feel this way.. He blows.

    No, you blow.

They put him coverage because he is better at it than Sheard and Kruger. Try reading the comments from Pettine instead of making dumb-ass statements.

Get it through your thick skull. Mingo is a B-U-S-T!!

  • Mingo was our sack leader last year wasn't he? Bust? really? Last year Kruger put up a giant facepalm but so far this year he's our best defensive player so let's ease on up on the bust talk regarding Mingo. It's his 2nd year as well as his 2nd defensive scheme. He's basically a rookie all over again.

Especially when you consider his limited playing time last season.

In 2014? Sure, but in 2013, the "last year" to which I'm sure Unsym was referring, Farmer did not have that say...

  • Mingo's pressure caused those two sacks today, back-to-back.

Those plays just happened to be when he had his hand in the dirt. They need to utilize him like that more often.

  • We seem to have a number of LBs who play better with their hand in the dirt...

    Maybe play a 7-0-4? 😎
