Falcons Week 12

The Browns Board

  • Just saw Atlanta is favored by 1.5 I like that as we seem to suck when people have high expectations, but still it's Atlanta, how could we be underdogs.

We playing at Atlanta and they are playing much better than before. Not to mention, the odds makers dont have much faith in us.

You probably realize the home team automatically gets three points on the spread. Book odds mean nothing. They're counting on bettors taking into account the Browns just played like crap against the Texans.

I do, and I always find that odd that when a team plays bad, they are immediately underdogs. Personally if a good team plays bad one week, I expect them to come out playing hard looking to prove something. I never bet when my team is involved, but if I wasn't a browns fan, I would be all over this line.

  • In the end its the bettors who ultimately establish the line. Really has nothing to do with last weeks game or injuries. It has everything to do with "where the moneys going"....which can be influenced by peoples perception....which can be influenced by last weeks game, injuries, etc....

But rest assured, if too much money starts going to one side, the line will immediately adjust to account for it.

  • With all the key injuries we have, even with Gordon coming back, I don't see us winning this one.

I'm not sure right now if we win another game with the Schedule and injuries we've got.

  • Fun part too is with the Panthers on a bye this week all my fellow Carolinians will get to watch the Browns on national broadcast.

  • With Marlon Moore out, let's put Gilbert back on KO returns and see what he can do.

  • Gordon could have a big game. How many receptions did he have last year his first game back after missing two games? This game will come down to our defense. Atlanta doesn't run the ball well.

I just remembered, don't punt the ball to Devin Hester if he's back there between the hashes.

  • Winston (the other Rookie RB) is supposed to be playing Special Teams this week.

  • If 9-7 is in the future, this better be a win.

It sounds like that is a good possibility. Blurb at Browns site says they are prepping him to run back KO's this week. Doesn't say he'll do it for sure tho. Link below

  • Per Tabor... Gilbert was behind Moore and Gabe for kick offs, and behind Benji for Punts.

  • After a home game debacle, 2 big road wins are capable {feed off Cinny road performance}.Att:NFL please keep Ed Jerk U Sleez and his crew off Browns game period.. Atlanta= 3 Headed RB Monster with OL performing, try to cover Gordon<Hawk will eat them up. Hoyer must be on time... Buffalo a great D questable O, Our D should get some picks on Orton and Hoyer has his biggest passing game ever. Both road games our D must hold them under 20..Time to show we legit and not falling out of this, Be The New Browns and perform like it.. Woof Woof...Hoyer the Road Destroyer..

  • Josh Gordon could be downright 'scary' against Falcons in first game back from suspension

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Rabbit didn't hesitate when asked what it will be like when receiver Josh Gordon re-joins him on the field Sunday against the Falcons after his 10-game drug ban.

"Scary,'' said receiver Travis Benjamin, a.k.a. The Rabbit. "Hands down we have the fastest receiving corps in the league as we see it. We can't wait to get back out there and put on a show Sunday against the Falcons."

    .

    .

    .

It depends, of course, on who you ask. Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant, charged with the Herculean task of covering the NFL's reigning receiving yardage leader on the day they're letting him out of his cage, isn't expecting the good times to roll. The Falcons are 32nd against the pass, and one of their starting corners is out with a broken wrist.

"He's legit,'' Trufant told espn.com. "I just have to bring my A-game.''

    Trufant, a second-pro, watched all 87 of Gordon's catches from 2013 for a league-high 1,646 yards -- and all of his targets.

"I look at what they're good at, I look at what they're not good at, and I try to exploit that," he said. "I look at other corners that had success against that receiver. And I look at myself and am real about what I'm able to do. I'm just going to go into it just like any other game: confident in my technique, first. And I'm going to be all right."

And just exactly which cornerbacks had success against the All-Pro last year?

"Really nobody," said Trufant. "He was killing everybody last year. That's why I'm just going to do what I do. It's going to be a challenge. He might make some plays. But as long as I contain him, don't give up any explosives, we'll be all right."

    .

    .

    .

Gordon has shared with Haden the havoc he plans to wreak in the final half-dozen games, but the cornerback wouldn't give it up.

"He has, but I don't want to talk about it,'' Haden said with a smile.

Still, knowing 'JG' like Haden does, the Falcons should be afraid. Very afraid.

"It wouldn't surprise me if he went out there and had 250 (yards) even a little bit,'' said Haden.

Lot of hype, let's see how it plays out.

🙂 If Gilbert can't crack it as the #2 CB behind Haden- put him in the category of "The Expendables". He was great in college on kickoffs, doesn't' hurt to see what he can do.

  • I just hope we can stop the run. If we can stop the run and force 3rd and 7+ then I like our odds.
