The SEC Myth
-
The bias isn't myth
-
The rankings....including those put forth by this 12-13 person committee is just opinion.
But opinion is just opinion. By time season ends I suspect the SEC will have about a .500 record against the other power conferences. And I will repeat, they will probably have a losing record vs. the ACC. The ACC will probably even be favored in 3 of the remaining 4 games. So that is hardly dominance. If the SEC goes like 3-1 in those games....then my predicting skills will be wrong. (not that that is anything to hold your hat onto). Mississippi and Mississippi St. may not have the rankings they do if they had actually played anyone decent.
I am rooting for those two schools in the SEC as they are fresh blood in that conference but I don't know how well they would really do against outside teams.

The Gators have only traveled west of Fayetteville, Ar once since 1983 (@USC).

At the time I type this, either #3 Auburn or #4 Ole Miss will lose this game.. The loser would beat the #1 team in the Big 10(and I like MSU), they would beat the #1 team in the Big 12, they would beat the #1 team in the Pac12.. And FSU is way overrated this yr so they'd most likely beat the #1 ACC team..
Yet because they lost tonight, they'll be fucked.
And we aren't even talking about Alabama who suddenly has their ducks in a row and is probably the best team in the nation..
It's this simple.. Take #1 thru #5 out of the SEC and pit them against the #1thru #5 in ANY other conference in the nation when the game matters and the SEC easily wins 4 of 5.. In most cases 5 out of 5..
If you don't see that, you are delusional..

Do they play defense in the SEC?
Georgia gave up over 400 yards rushing to a bad Fla team.
AUB had over 500 yards of offense, and Ole Miss had 492 yards
And then there is Miss st. They barely won at home against a sub .500 team.
The new poll will be out Tuesday, and it will only have 2 sec teams.
Also how in the world is #1 Miss St. playing Tenn-Martin next week????????????
And AUB plays some school named Samford the second last week of the season????????????

Do they play defense in the SEC? NO, not the last few seasons. That's my biggest beef outside of the regional bubble they play in.
I'm waiting for Arkansas to crack the top 15, hey they lost 17-10 to Mississippi St., and 14-13 to 'Bama

Just an opinion. Who knows what would happen on the field. Auburn has the best non-conference win in the SEC, beating K.St.
And the last time I notice, FSU was beating Auburn in the national title game.
....but if it is any consolation to you....I hope Miss. St. runs the table in the SEC.
Yet because they lost tonight, they'll be fucked.

Then I guess....in you opinion both Auburn and MSU will be kicked to the curb.

The SEC will be playing the ACC in 5 games this year.....I will tell you what I believe when those games are played on the field, not when they are played in your mind.

All good teams play some cupcakes.....I just don't know why the SEC is playing theirs in the middle of the conference schedule.
Oh....maybe it is because they need those "breathers".

As noted, the SEC being the premier football conference in America is a myth. See this earlier post:
There are 4 games left matching intrastate foes, one of which is in the SEC and the other in the ACC:
Florida/Florida St. Won by ACC team
Georgia Tech/Georgia Won by ACC team
Clemson/South Carolina Won by ACC team
Kentucky/Louisville. Won by ACC team
In the only SEC/ACC game played so far, SEC Georgia did defeat ACC Clemson
ACC goes 4-1 vs. SEC
Big Ten goes 1-1 vs. SEC
Big 12 goes 1-3 vs. SEC
P-12 and SEC didn't play any games.
SEC record vs. other Power 5 conferences: 5-6

These sec homos are a trip. Rooting for a conference is gay. I will never root for Michigan to win any game.

SOS
2nd, 4th,6th and 7th all belong to SEC teams..
Where is Ohio State? At an embarrassing 54th facepalm.gif
Or this one

Be sure to scan the "vs top 10 & top 30" stats..
When you have no facts you play the homophobic BS that you'd never have the balls to utter in person..
It's simple
I don't root for a conference.. But I do acknowledge excellence when I see it..
7 of the last 8 national champs have been SEC schools..
The SEC East sucks this year!! The SEC West is freakin loaded..

SEC rules.

The SEC has a losing record against the other 4 power conferences. Actually, more telling is the fact that the 14 teams of the SEC only played 11 games against the other power conferences(plus Notre Dame)
SEC is 5-6
The Big 12 is 4-6...but note...they play a 9 game conference schedule, not 8 games like the SEC and others.
The Pac 12 is 9-2
The ACC is 9-7 (including 4-1 vs. SEC)
The Big Ten is 6-12. Not good....but notice, the Big Ten is the one most willing to go up against the other conferences. I guess they could have padded their records against cupcakes SEC style....then we could have said how loaded they are.

SEC rules.
SEC rules.
1-4 vs. ACC. Just what do they rule? No the states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky.

7 of the last 8 National Championships.. If FSU doesn't pull a miracle out of their ass it's 8 out of 8..
That's not a myth.. That's a clear fucking dominance..

They do have one or two clearly dominant teams......mainly Alabama. The league overall? Not so much.
The SEC really means "Schedule Easy Cupcakes".

National championships have been arbitrarily handed out based on popularity for a hot minute. The playoff system will make or break their claims of dominance.

As you watch 'Bama mop up OSU on New Year's day and trounce Oregon in the championship game. Hate to say it but Saban is on track for another one.
The SEC has revenue sharing which is why their programs (all of them - Track - Basketball - Baseball and Football) are all so strong and that's why we root conference also. As much as I hate 'Bama, I want them to win the championship 'cause that's more money in the coffers.

The Big Ten also has revenue sharing, and SEC teams don't even have the most revenue....
The SEC benefits from rampant oversigning, playing fast and loose with roster management rules, lower admission standards, "bagmen" etc.
In a 4 year span Saban had 14 Medical Hardships (removes a guy form the scholarship count saying he is too injured). Tressel had 4 in 10 years.
The SEC is dirty, plain and simple. Saban is the dirtiest of the bunch. SEC fans prefer to stick their head in the sand though.
(also, the whole ESPN/CBS Media thing working in their favor. Starting with preseason polls the guarantee the SEC will have the highest rated teams at the end of the year to just the day t day SEC dick sucking)
