Is there anything more pointless than the CLE cops directing traffic on game day?

Traffic lights work just fine. In fact, leaving the traffic lights on, and having cops directing traffic in ways that are not consistent with what the lights are indicating, is dangerous. A cop almost ran me out in front of another vehicle today. I'm curious, how does downtown deal with Rush hour throughout the week? Are they able to get by without cops at every intersection?
I have very little patience for the game day traffic cops.

Its not just game day. It happens all the time down there in the middle of the workday especially at Prospect and Ontario
