  • My question has been asked...

At the vid's 1:36 mark: ""On if he has noticed a change in his footwork"

"No, I mean watching the film there was a few maybe where I had to move my feet around; I had to move maybe a little bit in the pocket more than usual you know, too, so...

Sometimes when you have to do that your feet aren't as clean so (um) I can see where on certain plays he might have said that, but (ummm) for the most part there were times when I hung in there and you know took some hits and threw the ball too so...

Over the course of an NFL game I don't think you're going to have perfect feet the whole time. Obviously you strive to do that, but (um) you know I can I can un... watching the film, thinking back to a few plays, I can understand where he said that."

I'm sure there's meat on any number of other bones for some of you, but I had my fill on the above.

Brian, your arm is not strong enough to not have your be perfect. I can forgive your feet when a 300 lb lineman is about to bury you, but not when the pocket is clean.

    Next up...

  • Best of luck to his future, I hate that people are grilling him hard over being selfish and not a team guy.

No hate from me, he did many good things here but just couldn't get it done.

  • Agreed entirely.

I also don't like his insistence on "across the board" blame. Focus on what YOU can do better. The entire defensive side did their job. If the offense was even just competent... That would have been enough for the win. Many dropped passes were on throws behind the receiver and short of the first down. Add to that the over-throws, the interception, and throwing off of the heels? Competence. All we needed. With the HC putting his ass on the line for making the decision to go with him that game, he couldn't even provide that. And he refuses to own up to it.

  • Anyone know how many drops we had officially?

I know Benji had a would-be first down drop that was slightly behind, but it's still on Benji...He had both hands on it NFL receivers need to catch those.

I also know Dray had one that was just a straight up drop on a well placed ball (short out route). I also saw somewhere that the longest drive of the 2nd half was 5 plays. Sickening that we could have won with just a couple more completions or first downs.

  • A missed block here, a dropped ball there. Never takes any blame. Just says we have to play better. Across the board? Did he not see Haden, Gilbert and Kruger playing lights out? This is getting old. All these football cliches. Put up or shut up! And that goes for Pettine too.

  • The best response is when he was asked about Josh Gordon..

    WOW

    That was something else

The nervous laughter.. the disgusted look.. and the odd comment about "thats what happens when you get limited reps and that all im going to say about that"

    AWKWARD

  • I'm tired of his ass throwing all his teammates under the bus. That is all.

Yeah... that whole segment on the Josh question was like the proverbial duck paddling around on a pond... a whole lot of stuff going on just out of sight.

If Brian had truly owned his own shortcomings, e.g. in my fav area, footwork, then any fact-based, criticism of others would have been acceptable, but as it is...
