Nice. Im section 131 and Im sure Ill have a few $8 beers.

They're $9 and of course you don't ask for the dollar change. I spent $70 on beer in that stadium!

For $9 you're God damned right I'm asking for that dollar change.

But I've seriously weaned off buying stadium beers in recent years...

I think someone got it "in the" shit can.....then posted pictures....

Asking for change makes it like "Buy nine, get one free..."

I think I follow... even tho it's "than posted pictures." 😉

Yeah... but that was only 55 quid, right?

That's what tailgate is for, and just a couple during the game to keep warm.

  • Well, a case (24 12oz cans for you Brits) of Budweiser is about 18-20 dollars? At 9.00 per can just think of the profit these greedy mofos are making.

Absolutely. And I rarely even do the "just a couple" during the the game anymore. Glad we are exciting to watch again, and so deep into the season. Otherwise I might fall asleep with this strategy. 😉

That's just the retail price-they get it wholesale which is even a more serious markdown from retail. Plus whatever they get off for selling a particular label in the stadium.

Wasn't there a venue that got caught watering down there beers?

Perhaps. For the record I think the $9 beers are for the craft beers. You can get the Bud Light/Buds for $8. And it used to be the aisle vendors were cheaper than going to the stands, like $7.50. My main point to all of this is that if you buy the $9 craft beers, those would be hard to water down and people not take notice.

  • I remember a bar a retired Navy Chief bought in NY (Scotia). We would all go down after work and have a beer. He listed one as a 24 oz mug. Thing would barely hold 14 ounces. After that, everyone quit going there. It doesn't pay to false advertise.

  • Right. Just raise the price over playing tricks.

Correct- Ag. When you walk up to the concession stand and order a draft, the profit margin is at least 90% if not higher. Latest scam is to have some Charitable Organizations to VOLUNTEER- FOR FREE- to sell beer for probably a couple hundred bucks "donation". Damn- the Browns even get a tax write off for free labor. Well, I just did some math. My mega booze store https://www.thepartysource.com/ will sell you a keg of Bud for $110. Trust me, the Browns are buying it by the truckload for most likely 1\2 that. There's 124- 16 ounce pours in a keg. $9 X 124 = $1116. Not only that, you can bet the Ranch Anheuser-Busch is paying the NFL, if not the Browns- a ton of money just to be able to sell their beer at games- exclusively. Come to think of it, didn't see any Miller for sale last week. Add in pretzels that probably cost 0.50 cents max for $4 you can bet old Uncle Jimmy is hauling in at least a million or so per game on booze and concessions.

  • Congrats. I'll be watching from the St. Felix bar in Hollywood on Cuehenga pounding 4 dollar Miller Lites until my head explodes.

4 bucks for a Miller Lite? Damn and I thought everything was more expensive in Boston....

Depends on how many have preceded the watered down one(s)...

  • When I was a teenager, I work in the kitchens in the bowels of the stadium, prepping the food for the vendors.....filling hotdog boxes, popcorn boxes and the beer racks.....

We'd put 5 rows of 5 cups in a rack, then slide them under a special tap machine that would fill 5 at a time.....slide the rack....fill 5 more,,,,etc......THEN, we'd stretch saran wrap across the top and melt it onto the cups to make lids......

The BEST part was that the melt lids didn't really work out well and there were always a few that didn't stick.....they'd lift off and then we were "supposed" to dump that beer and place a new one.....well, let me tell ya, they didn't get dumped....and we ALWAYS staggered out of there....drunk and full......

Someday, I will share the many ways we used to torment the vendors, who couldn't get at us because we were locked in the "cage", which is what we called the kitchens.....great times!

  • LOL...

    I knew it! "YOU BASTARDS!"

I worked as a vendor... never sold beer, but made some good coin slinging dogs.

Have a couple good stories from the other side of the cage for a slow day here, someday...

Are you serious???......cause, believe me, we came into work with plans......hahaha

Of course, we had "special" vendors that really got the treatment, while the ones we liked got good product....

I will say, working there ruined my ability to ever enjoy the hotdogs at a game again......

I worked at a golf course in high school doing various jobs in the clubhouse, among them stocking the beverage shelves.

We had this beer called Hudy Gold that apparently no one drank, and l guess it got old and they were tired of looking at it, so they told me to pitch it in the dumpster.

I immediately nicknamed my car "the dumpster" and did what l was told.
