AFL record DO count. Pete Rozelle was not a bitter old fuck like Bell. He did not own a team that was embarassed like Bell did.

Well it's bullshit and you have a point but it is what it is.

LOL! Just pullin' chains this week Mudfly-what I really want to see from now on is what I saw Sunday from the D-real f'n Browns football right in their faces!

Right back atcha bud..😉....a little give & take....and we know you're excited(we are too)....its like christmas eve really....anticipation......

But....Mr Aggie.....if JFF is GREAT this week and you all come on here stroking it like a teenager who just got his first porno, then Im instantly gonna start saying he sucked....just be ready

I agree that one good game doesn't make him a superstar. I think it's fair to point out the positives of his game play but I won't make that judgment unless he pulls a Tom Brady and brings them to the super bowl in his first season.

  • Hey Patriot guy, I, for one, have never hated the Patriots since I liked Bill when he was here and thought he got a shitty deal from Art Modell. I hope we kill you fuckers every time we play you but that's the same for any other team.

    For what that's worth. 😉

    WSS

  • In part because Toros was a popular alternative name choice...

I learned that in a trivia thread... somewhere...

  • I see they are not showing it in Norman, Ok. They still have not forgiven him for "wrecking" the Sooners in the Cotton Bowl. 😆

    yeah...wasn't that sweet.....??

  • It is a bit baffling....but I think he played above his skill set for a while there, then it all averaged out and came full circle...

I will say he looked and sounded MUCH better yesterday, than he did earlier in the week. In a way, I think he's disappointed, but also has a sense of relief(not that he wanted it) now that the pressure is off......once the anger and disappointment subsides, I think he'll be fine..

And hopefully, by years end(or next spring), he will accept reality and maybe sign to stay on as JF's backup.....

More disappointment, but I hear you and hearing Brian, I think you nailed it with your "relief" theory. The whole home town thing had to weigh on him. Plus while we talk about rookies wearing down by the length of their first Pro season, same applies to Brian. It's not like he's done it before.

It a combination of things that would lead me to believe that after a respite, if we had to call upon him again, then he'd answer the bell with better efforts than we've seen of late. Hoping we don't have to find out, but it would not surprise me.

    @letsgojackets said:

Looking at his footwork, I don't think he's comfortable with his knee yet. I wouldn't be shocked if he left and lit it up for somebody else. (Hoyer)

Possible... I think it's more a confidence factor, but if he has been playing hurt, it's just another thing that a respite should help.

You Aggies fans paying attention? This is how you come into someone else's house. I hate the Patriots and I hope they lose every game they play. I hope Brady finds out that Gronk is banging Gisele and they get into a fistfight in the middle of the field on Sunday. I hope Belichick is exposed in a massive cheating scandal and they retroactively take all of his Super Bowl titles away. Nonetheless, welcome to the board Pats_Fan93. Here's to a Browns/Pats AFC championship one day (in which the Browns win 103-0 and Belichick breaks down in tears)

    Brutal Dawg, just brutal...

I mean have a heart man, it's been almost a full decade since Pats' fans last won a Super Bowl...

After reading all this crap I have come to the decision that you're all a bunch of Johhny-come-lately-fanboys. 😛 😛

Except Tour-he at least has the balls to be a skeptic still. 🥷

Both present and accounted for... and it's "Otto-come-lately fanboys"...

Frickin' Agies can't get jack-shit right...

  • If he can win out and get us into the playoffs, i'll be the biggest Johnny "Midget" Manziel fan out there.

I agree 100%....I wont get too high or low until Ive seen him play a while.....believe me, there will be DEFINITIVE decisions made by many by about 2:00 Sunday afternoon....first pass will be HE'S A STAR.....and first miss will be HE SUCKS!.....Guaranteed

Thats my feeling....a few days ago I had my concerns on if he'd get his head straight. ...yesterday defense mode was gone and team Brian was back....sounded almost chippy....happy to help JFF, ready to pitch in, ready to play(if needed) and I believed him(mostly)...

Probably slept like a baby this week, for the first time all season....

I had checked the map earlier today and only parts of Texas had the Browns game. Now the entire state has it. Badass, thought i was going to have to go to a sports bar and be around fuckin Texan fans.

We call them DumbAss Texan fans. Because, well, they ARE from Texas.....and also because they were too dumb to come up with an original name. I mean, what is a Texan.....just some that lives within the confines of certain boundaries. It would have been as silly as saying the "Cleveland Ohioans"....or some such.

The least they could have done was called themselves what it was back when Texas was a country (1836-45). Texians.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texians

My great, great grandpa was one of those and has a "Citizen of the Republic of Texas" marker on his gravesite put there by the state.

  • Looks like the map has been updated from this morning - a lot more of the Country is getting the game.

I'm still stuck with GB vs Buf since I'm in an NFC Market 🙁

  • Hope jff doesnt shit the bed on national exposure. think some people are watching to see something great or a train wreck. i got my beer ready for either one.

Nah but Houstonianswere just too apathetic. When the Oilers announced that they were leaving maybe 100 people showed up downtown to protest but what did Cleveland do to Model! Sued his ass - you can't take the name, you can't take the colors - you can't take shit ahd we'll try to stop you from taking the team.

McNair, even though he is a great man, has no originality. The Texans name stems from the Dallas team that Lamar Hunt moved to KC and re-names it the Chiefs. I would have purchased the Oilers name from Bud Adams and the colors. It could have been Luv Ya Blue round 2.

BTW, not dumb. I'll bet you're bundled up in Wadsworth right now while I'm sitting outside in shorts and a t-shirt posting on my laptop. Ain't nothing like 70's on Dec 11.

As a fan north of the border, this means I get to watch the Browns on national television more often.

  • Is this for real? Wow! But I still live near Tampa and our game is on at the same time the Bucs are on. PHOOEY! Bucs are 2-11 against Derek Anderson. I will read a book and watch the Browns on NFL REWIND

Aafc doesn't count in the nfl. It should because the browns entered the nfl and immediately dominated but it doesn't

It does count. You are wrong. Read the fucking facts. It ain't that hard to read or to count.

Gip, ya know I love ya- but just because Bert Bell had a grudge- it is what it is. 65 years and counting- it's not going to change, just like Shoeless Joe Jackson is never going to get reinstated.

    @tml1138 said:

I'm curious about which part of the link you are referring to that makes it count. Don't worry, I count them. 🙂

I noticed one part which stated this:

In 1948, the Browns became the first professional football team to complete an entire season undefeated and untied — 24 years before the 1972 Miami Dolphins of the NFL would accomplish the task, but this feat is not recognized by NFL record books. Unlike the AFL statistics which are treated as NFL statistics, records of the AAFC and its teams (most of which folded) are not recognized. However, individual AAFC player statistics are included in Pro Football Hall of Fame records, and the defunct conference is memorialized in the Hall.

    Seems contradictory to me.

Also, Packers and Bears have more championship wins, but they are NFC teams.

    and never will be.

Do the afl titles pre merger count in official standings?

    Yes, which sucks.

the only reason the Browns- Bengals is on FOX is because of some fancy footwork about switching the Sunday night game around. Hell, google "tampa Browns backers" and find a bar that's picking up the game.

  • One things for sure, EVERYONE and their mother wants to see Johnny play.

Yeah- no comprendo- the AFC Games should be on CBS, & NFC games on FOX. It's long been the rule the visiting teams Conference affiliation picks up the broadcast- at least on Sunday afternoon games.
