  • GOOD. When I saw the recap of this game and his two steps backwards...I said he'll get fined but that's nothing, they need to suspend him...just in time for the playoffs. Glad they did this.

A couple of articles I found interesting about Suh (and what Joe Green thought of him) when I first read them last year:

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/05/16/mean-joe-greene-ndamukong-suh-should-keep-playing-his-way/

    http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2013/05/detroit_lions_dt_ndamukong_suh_17.html

  • he's the type of guy who's going to take the highest bid, get paid a shit load of money and then do absolutely nothing for the rest of his career.

    haynesworth anyone?

Nah... Difference is Suh has already been paid. $22 mil this past season; $64 mil over the course of his last contract.

Agree... suspension was warranted, it surprised me*, but was warranted.

The linked articles are misleading. They want to imply Mean Joe and Suh said "keep playing dirty", when real message I saw was "keep playing hard, keep playing with attitude".

Difference was I think Joe knew where "the line" was, Suh doesn't seem to. For that reason I do not want Suh on my team.

Ya, I can easily see that happen with him....Raiders?

HA! you'd think the raiders would finally figure it out....(meanwhile that's prob what their fans think about the browns, lol).

i mean don't get me wrong the browns need a couple of DL in the worse way but i just think suh is the wrong way to go and seeing as haslam and the FO/staff are trying to weed out the 'bad' players, don't know if suh would be welcome.

Seems like they want to emulate the browns the last 5 or so seasons. They're interviewing mangini and shurnur. I understand the mangini interview but shurmur? For fucks sake the guy just doesn't have it for a head coach.

Yes I picked up on the sutle differences implied in those articles, but still found it interesting. One part I took note was where Joe commented people don't know what it's like to be in the trenches. Some of that read to me that you have to play dirty to succeed. Yet plenty of the greatest D Line players are not known for being dirty. Therefore, if you lack the talent of the best, so you have to make up for it somewhere else...playing dirty.

  • And I think its funny the NFL is so concerned about its players images and is now coming down on their off the field conduct. But they are lobbing soft balls at a perpetual offender. I think I heard his past offenses aren't being considered anymore but cmon. You should only get a certain number of strikes before you're completely out.

Once a turd always a turd (looking at you too john boy)

  • I love the way suh plays but he cant seem to turn it off. He's dirty as hell. I'd still love to him at the nose in the black and gold even with the penalties and the suspensions. He's a damn monster. Who knows, costing himself a playoff game may be his turning point. He was doing the cha cha on Rodgers tho.

  • And some people want the browns to get this dirty son of a bitch

He's a damn monster. Shockingly he is supposedly a really nice guy off the field.

  • great our own version of James "cheap shot" harrisoon...

I always get a laugh out of this, every team in the NFL would have bent over to have him on their team in his prime. He's having a hell of a season this year "over the hill". Teams need the attitude he brings. It's why guys like joey porter, Kevin Greene, jack lambert, Greg lloyd had success in this league. His emotion rubs off on everyone else.

He'd fit better in a prison gang organization like the stoolers.

  • I'd take him for the right price. Play like a Brown....

  • and now he won his appeal and will play this week

Isn't it funny Gordon's appeal took 26 days, and Suh's 2 hours? The Commissioner's office is inconsistent as hell

even the NFL wants to get Gordon out from behind their shield. It's coming in due time, I just hope we can get something for him before we have to release him due to another failed test, which he has probably already failed.

  • I don't like Suh and his long history of dirty play. That said he didn't purposefully step on Rodgers.

The 1-game suspension is a travesty.

Add another to the pile of NFL front office gaffs.

Your insane if you think that second step with his left foot, followed by the pressure he put on, was not on purpose.

You are trying to tell me this dude is one of the best players in the NFL, yet doesn't have the reflexes to 1) know where Rodgers was after his initial first step and not step with his left foot. And or 2) move his foot once he feels it stepping down on Rodgers already injured leg.

Yeah, Suh may be criminally insane, but he's NOT stupid or clumsy. Shame on the NFL for reversing the already insufficient penalty.

    Mike

  • he wins his appeal but still gets fined.

so he was guilty of something but they don't want the cowboy vs. lions game to be a blowout and a viewership no-show.

way to go goodell. way to take a stand you piece of shit.

    once again....all about the money.

you don't seriously think that "at least" that second step was on purpose? I kind of think both steps were on purpose when I saw the replay a couple times. The 2nd one there's simply no question. Most guys when they step on something on the field are immediately looking down on what they're stepping on cause they don't want to roll an ankle. He didn't look down EVER because he knew that might draw the refs attention to what he was doing. He just innocently looked downfield like nothing was going on while he two stepped on Rodgers leg.

  • I find it amusing that so many of those posting in this thread know exactly what Suh was thinking and that his act was purposeful. You sound ridiculous.

When I saw the play live I didn't think twice about it - Suh simply got a little push from the Packer lineman, which re-directed Suh's momentum a bit and forced him to step back to settle himself before heading upfield.

And, yes, I am insane. Bat-shit crazy, in fact. Rooting for the Browns for over 30 years will do that to you.
