Survey Wednesday New Year's Eve
-
1. So, College playoffs has its 4 teams.......who wins it all? (I may have had this question before...so what)
Ducks
2. So the NFL is down to 12 teams:
A. Who do you want to win it all out of the 12
Packers
B. Who do you think will win it?
Seahawks
3. All things considered.....do you think that the Browns have been the most interesting NFL franchise from a national perspective over the last year? And why or why not?
No. they've had a lot of drama, but I think the Seahawks are more interesting.
4. It is New Year's Eve, so we have to ask: Have you made any New Year's resolutions? If so, what?
Not really, just renew the same ones every year.
5. Do you think there is a vortex or black hole or aliens or something that is gobbling up airplanes over around Indonesia and Malaysia?
Umm ... No.
-
1) Oregon
2) A. Packers
B. Winner of Seattle/Green Bay NFC Championship (don't want to jinx the Pack)
3) No. The 49ers have been more interesting as far as I'm concerned. Other than the massive media coverage during Week 15, there has been little talk of the Browns nationally.
4) Usual stuff - get more fit, focus on studies and so on
5) Bermuda Triangle 2.0? I'm not into conspiracy theories and all that, there'll probably be some scientific explanation.

1. So, College playoffs has its 4 teams.......who wins it all? (I may have had this question before...so what)
Ohio State, of course....
2. So the NFL is down to 12 teams:
A. Who do you want to win it all out of the 12
Detroit....because Id like to see a dreg win it all for once
B. Who do you think will win it?
Green Bay.....r-e-l-a-x.....it's in the bag
3. All things considered.....do you think that the Browns have been the most interesting NFL franchise from a national perspective over the last year?
Yes
And why or why not?
New GM, new coaches.....and we added the highest profile-most controversial rookie ever and he has not disappointed....keeping his profile both high and controversial.....which, to many, is interesting
4. It is New Year's Eve, so we have to ask: Have you made any New Year's resolutions? If so, what?
Nope.
5. Do you think there is a vortex or black hole or aliens or something that is gobbling up airplanes over around Indonesia and Malaysia?
Yep. I have my suspicions.....
-
1. So, College playoffs has its 4 teams.......who wins it all? (I may have had this question before...so what)
I actually like "the irrelevant Big 10" rep's chances.
2. So the NFL is down to 12 teams:
A. Who do you want to win it all out of the 12
Want? Arizona... tough D and a persistent O.
B. Who do you think will win it?
Think? Seattle... came together right on schedule.
3. All things considered.....do you think that the Browns have been the most interesting NFL franchise from a national perspective over the last year? And why or why not?
Interesting? No... Off-field simply does not come into the conversation. And by any on-field measure there are many teams that "out interest" us. Tops amongst these I think are the Arizona Cards.
4. It is New Year's Eve, so we have to ask: Have you made any New Year's resolutions? If so, what?
No... But I am considering being more tolerant of Steve and finding a way to sign out without catching a glimpse of a single topic in the Political Section.
5. Do you think there is a vortex or black hole or aliens or something that is gobbling up airplanes over around Indonesia and Malaysia?
Yes... if you chart the decline in Bermuda Triangle activity you will see that it's decline began exactly when the rise in the Maylay-Triangle activity began.
At least that's what my palm reader told me.. -

Is there a word like 'infamous' to 'famous' so I can use it for 'interesting'?
Removing JF from the mix, the team has been, basically, invisible in NE
4. It is New Year's Eve, so we have to ask: Have you made any New Year's resolutions? If so, what?
Live to cry another day
5. Do you think there is a vortex or black hole or aliens or something that is gobbling up airplanes over around Indonesia and Malaysia?

Just spent Christmas with my Dad(and sibs) and this came up. He was a USAF pilot in the 50's and 60's, before becoming a commercial flyer. And he's as logical and clear headed as a man can be and has flown millions and millions of miles in just about every type of plane you can imagine....not really a "story teller" and certainly someone to believe when he speaks...
He told us a story about 2 of his pilot friends who were lost in the Triangle on a mission that he should have flown. He had just taken special leave because I was just born a couple weeks before and my Mom had some complications and was hospitalized....the proverbial... "I shoulda been on that flight, but..." story. So, because he took leave, his buddy ended up flying the mission instead. And I get credit for keeping him home

They all were bomber pilots and were in training to do aerial refueling with larger & faster Stratotanker jets....and 2 of the jets, both with his good buddies flyin them, were doing their routine alert flights and heading back to Miami when they just vanished over the triangle...poof!.....no distress calls, no s.o.s, no debris and, ultimately, no answers.......they were both fuel tankers too, so you'd think there'd be just a little bit of an oil slick (from 60,000 gallons of fuel) eh?
Of course, at the time, it wasn't yet known as the triangle...But he did say they all had fears when they were flying out there and he had once dropped 6000 ft in altitude...instantly.....and for no reason.....whilst heading to Cuba ....like he just fell out of the sky
Said it was the scariest moment he ever experienced in over 30 years at the controls.....primarily because there was never a logical explanation for it, which gave him pause.....
In the end, he offered no answers to what he thought was happening out there or what happened to the 2 planes back in 1963, but did say it deserves its reputation as a very bad place to fly.....
Sorry for the hijack....but thought it was a cool story worth sharing.....

1. So, College playoffs has its 4 teams.......who wins it all? (I may have had this question before...so what) I dont even know who those 4 teams are and i dont have any interest.
2. So the NFL is down to 12 teams:
A. Who do you want to win it all out of the 12 Dallas Cowboys. Been too long and i want Romo to get a ring and prove his haters wrong.
WTF you talking about "been too long". It has only been 20 years. It has been 67 years since the Cardinals won it....y'all can wait just as long.
B. Who do you think will win it? Seattle.
3. All things considered.....do you think that the Browns have been the most interesting NFL franchise from a national perspective over the last year? And why or why not? Yes. People love to talk about Johnny Manziel and all his drama.
4. It is New Year's Eve, so we have to ask: Have you made any New Year's resolutions? If so, what? Drink less Vodka. Workout more.
5. Do you think there is a vortex or black hole or aliens or something that is gobbling up airplanes over around Indonesia and Malaysia? I dont know but im sure its linked to Manziel posting on Instagram.

No worries. Very interesting story indeed....if not so cool because clearly it dealt with the loss of life of those pilots....unless of course like in Close Encounters of the Third Kind those pilots come walking out of an alien spaceship someday.

Unfortunately they didn't(and probably wont)....and thats a fair point. I would say, hearing my Dad tell it, those men were still very much in the front of his mind.....
But, I admit to having a different pov....having not known them AND knowing, had he flown that day, I would never have known him....
I guess Id say I wish it never happened, but since it did, still think its cool that he wasn't included...:/

Make it back for next New Year's resolution
5. Do you think there is a vortex or black hole or aliens or something that is gobbling up airplanes over around Indonesia and Malaysia?
A true black hole would not have left evidence like this last plane crash. It tells me more just not to fly on any of those airlines.
