Crime and racism - a good time to consider concealed carry

Found out last night, from our friends/family in N.C....that their neighbors next door

were with them at a neighborhood New Years eve church party.

Their son had gone home a few minutes before the rest of the family did,

walking. He entered their home, flipped the light on in their kitchen, and a

man was there with a knife. The criminal rushed him, stabbed the young teenager guy

in the shoulder, but he was not hurt too badly since he was wearing a heavy jacket..

and the crook bolted out of the house.

It could have gone badly in a tragic way, luckily, this nutjob left, and didn't simply

kill the young man.

You just never know. Especially when, you have sickoes like this running around....

I didn't know the Justice Dept brought charges against this dirtbag, and then, Holder/Obamao

intervened and had them dropped. And don't think they were dropped by anybody else.

I figure whoever brought charges against this dirtbag, lost his job at the DOJ.

You just never know when serious/armed crime might hit home.

Their neighbors were lax about using their security system. The whole neighborhood

is now alert, and very serious about security - they are worried...

because, you never know. and now, Obamao/holder have emboldened black power/black liberation theology nutjobs all over our country:

Jesus, how gut wrenching a feeling it must be to come home at night and turn on the light to see a man with a knife standing there. I'd probably pass out before he could even get to me lol

I didn't have a guy with a knife but I walked in on two pieces of shit trying to haul off our stuff. They were disassembling a desktop computer when I came in. I drew my gun and they hauled ass out of the back door. The cops found them hiding in the apartment below us. One of them was dating the little hood rat who had just moved in. I can't imagine being a young kid and coming home to someone with a knife sitting there.

If I had walked in and someone rushed me with a knife, If I had my weapon they would be dead for sure. Only bad part is replacing the carpeting and possibly furniture with blood splatter and such.

Don't know, they didn't say. Their neighbors are so shaken up, that they

didn't want to bother them for a few more days....

The whole neighborhood is doing due diligence with their alarm systems now.

Our friends always were, and their kids went to them and thanked them for

being so good about keeping the alarm system operating at all times.

Now, they have talked a bit about getting a gun, if things keep happening, or

for when they are traveling at night.

Neither one of them ever owned a gun, but we were talking about it one evening,

since my ccw is good in N.C., too... and he went out the next week, and was firing

guns with the police chief, who goes to their church.

You just don't know anymore.

I had an eye opening experience with my monitored alarm system a little while back.. I had gotten home early and was doing some serious renovations to my house. I had backed my Black Dodge Truck with a Black Topper up to the front door to roll out my air hoses, elec cords etc etc.. I walked in the front door just as my wife went out the back to work and set the alarm. I ran around outside the house to say bye.. The alarm went off, I scurried in to disable it and wait for the call from the Alarm Co. The call looking for my last 4 SS#s never came so i went about my business.

I went into the bathroom and took a leak with the fan going, walked out, down the hall, around the corner in to my LR and right into the business end of a 38 with about a 65 yr old short pudgy Dept Sheriff on the other end.. Dude had a BAD case of the shakes! I could see the wheels turning, he was thinking "SHIT!! two weeks to retirement and look at the size of this SOB!!

I honestly thought this man was going to shoot me out of fear in my own Living Room.. I backed up, he backed up and I told him my wallet was right there on the counter.. Look at my driver's Lic.. I OWN THIS HOUSE!! Not sure who felt more relief when it was over..

All because my alarm Co did not make the pre requisite call to establish whether the alarm was legit or not.

He rolled up on a Black Dodge truck backed up to the front door looking like a load up.. I didn't hear him yell upon entry because I was in the bathroom with the fan on.. I felt bad for him.. He was still shaking when he left.. I probably was too.

Depends on the signal that was sent. If a zone was set up as a panic or a 24 hour alarm they won't call they'll simply dispatch the cops.

If you have a false alarm and they don't call it's your responsibility to call them and verify that it was a false alarm. Most police departments will start billing you if you roll them more than twice on false alarms.

Generally you'll hear your keypad beeping, in your scenario, to alert you to the fact that your alarm is set.

Yeah, well, I guess they fired that girl for nothing then didn't they.. Not at my request either. Never presume you know more than the person conveying the experience. I have alarm systems on multiple homes I own and two businesses I own.. I'm very aware of how the zones are set up on each.. This was just an extremely bad set, almost a perfect storm for disaster set of circumstances..

Regardless, With the acquisition of #3 that I closed on Dec 31st, I'll be getting my CC permit soon.. I hate that society makes me feel that to be necessary.
