Mariota vs Winston head to head 40 yard dash combine

but if you look at the measurables only difference is the weight by 9 lbs. favoring winston and bigger hands and wingspan favoring mariota.

and one is a whole lot faster and smarter than the other.

Mariota is generally good at absorbing hits ala Wilson (unlike RG3 who looks like he's taking a massive hit every time)

However when Mariota competitiveness takes over he lowers his shoulder or goes airborne which he will have to give up in the NFL

Id guess that Mariota takes the shot better....to my eye, he's more elusive and looks a lot stronger....

Faster, yes......but Im thinking Winston looks pretty smart.....and very "football" smart......he absolutely killed it on the chalk board yesterday

Yes...to me Winston does not look physically strong......has tiny, undeveloped arms and is a little thick around the middle.....

So, physically, Mariota looks better......but, in terms of pro style football smarts and leadership qualities, I give it to Winston....

The report that Winston was blowing away OCs by anticipating their follow-up, chalk-talk questions, let alone answering them, was impressive.

The guy played in a pro system and looks like he was born to throw an NFL football. As long as he grows up he's a franchise level guy, there's no doubt about it. It's not even close between Mariota and Winston, if Winston didn't come with baggage Tampa would already be discussing salary with him.

That's not that Mariota can't be good, but Winston can be great.

i don't think people 'freak out' over the combine. it's just that it gives some of us interested fans a chance to see some of these guys that we might not have seen before.

those that aren't interested can still sit around and pout over not taking bridgewater or watkins last year.

mik, it's what folks say when their fav lays an egg...

I frickin' love the combine... raises issues I did not see, questions I did not ask, and always highlights players I would never have looked at.

That last bit is the best part.
