Legalize pot?

(and yes I am being facetious)), kind of...

Computers and video games?
Yep.
If in fact the health and well being of the American public is essential to lawmakers, and remembering that heart disease is caused by inactivity to a great degree, then the sedentary activities that people are devoting more and more of their time to should be regulated.

So TV, many forms of work, reading, sitting of any kind, using a car, etc

As long as they don't make Shamrock shakes illegal.

the only thing Congress is serious about is Congress.

I should have clarified: "cigarettes" was inclusive of all tobacco nicotineSure it will. With all the vaporizers patches and gum out there who's going to grow an illegal tobacco farm and go through all that?
I should have clarified: "cigarettes" was inclusive of all tobacco nicotine
Nicotine isn't particularly dangerous on its own unless you ingest a crazy amount of it.

I would hope lawmakers are weighing the cost of law enforcement, incarceration, loss of tax money etc. and weighing it against the cost of law enforcement, health care costs, etc. but I have a sneaking suspicion that, like everything else they decide, they're only weighing which lobby will make the largest campaign contribution and the moral compass of their district.

Mental illness a side effect. Thats why all the pot heads think its cool. They are mentally ill.

I had a nice response written up but I deleted it because cal may be the most close minded individual on this board and I do not feel like trying to separate my personal experiences from his skewed perceptions on pot.
Long story short is I do not experience many of those side effects listed in your article. If you want your booze and cigarettes then you better give pot to those who want it. Consenting adults deserve that.

That is the convo here right? Should pot be legal? Or do you just feel like putting me down because you disagree with what I do in my personal time?
Disagree or disapprove? I suppose you can spend your time as you wish. I know people who love oxycodontin and cocaine and seem to be able to function. I don't know many but some like heroin. and I know people whose lives are negatively impacted by cigarettes and alcohol. That is the convo here right? Should pot be legal? In the end, I see no rationale to have alcohol and cigarettes legal, but keep pot illegal.

It will be a long time before the feds will make it legal. The sun may die before it happens.

I strongly doubt that

I used the word synonymously with disaprove. The sun will most likely still be shining when pot is legalized and like woody said.. how can you keep cigs and alcohol legal but prohibit pot?

Here are a couple sources regarding the economic benefits of legalization

Let's not forget about that cost of prohibition...
