  • I stream it because I don't know any better...

  • I'd be worried if we didn't have McCown and Thad signed sealed and delivered.

Browns: Always one one step ahead.

  • Well 2 days ago Jim Brown was praising him for electing to stay beyond the minimum 28 day program.

    http://www.tmz.com/2015/03/11/jim-brown-very-happy-johnny-manziel-staying-in-rehab-very-wise-move/

Actually I see this in a more positive light. He may have finally concluded that he does indeed have a very difficult thing to deal with and the longer he stays in the better the outcome. Now it all depends upon what kind of long term treatment plan he has agreed to and how long it is supposed to last as an inpatient.

  • If JM's control was diminished by the pressures of the game (as his Daddy said all along), then a year away makes sense.

  • a 28 day program?

    pshaw.

  • lol It just keeps getting better. What a great 1st round drafting machine we are.

  • Why would we trade away an unproven QB for another unproven QB?

I know many of you don't like Manziel and rightfully so,

but if any team ever gives up on 1st round QB after 5 fucking quarters... it's lunacy.

See if he can turn it around this year, if not then you have a nice crop of QB's next year.

LOL, Atlanta gave up on Farve after 4 passes- of course, he was a second round pick.

  • <---- not surprised.

    Yeah they showed him huh?

If the Atlanta fans were as big of cry babies as we have here I hope they enjoyed their fine fine decision.

WOW BREAKING NEWS: @TheRealTRizzo said a source very close to him said Johnny Manziel will not play in the 2015 @NFL season #SameOldBrowns

Well, we are going to need more info on this. Maybe we are just getting the Dolphin's attention.

Well, Jordan Cameron resigned with the Browns too. So Don't believe everything you see on Twitter, or even from. supposedly "reliable" sources. I'd hardly call Rizzo & Grossi "reliable".

Was it in another thread Manziel's girlfriend is a class A barfly? If the reason he checked into rehab is because of a drinking problem (likely), he's going to have no choice but to dump her if he wants to stay straight. For a recovering alcoholic, constantly being around booze makes the temptation too great to resist. & I'm sure our Ag69 friend counselor will back me up on that one.

  • He's probably following the suggestion he got from his treatment team, which was probably to go to a 90-day residential program. A young guy like him would increase his chances by over 50% to remain sober for at least the first 2 years if he finishes that program (if it's a good one, which it probably is). Young people have the lowest sobriety rates (not surprising) following short-term treatments... and that rate is very low...

When considering that addiction is a life-or-death illness, I wouldn't complain one iota if he decided to take a year off and focus on his sobriety and recovery... of course that's coming from an experienced substance abuse therapist who also happens to be a Browns fan...

Let me ask, if we found out he had some form of cancer, would anybody question it if his treatment plan included taking a year off football???

She probably banged the whole team while he was in rehab anyway.......

  • Recovery, like active addiction, is selfish. If the kid thinks he needs a year off then more power to him. As mentioned above, the longer someone stays in rehab the greater the probability of long term sobriety. Who knows, maybe there are some legal angles that have yet been disclosed. Seriously, based on his performance, heretofore, the Browns aren't losing much in the QB department anyhow. Thank Christ Thad is back...meh

  • This has got be the most dysfunctional professional team in all of sports. Farmer owes all of us long suffering, patient as hell fans an apology.

With Cancer there would be an explanation why that person needed a year off. All fans would ask for is an explanation. And I know all about fucking HIPPA....it says that no ones health privacy can be unlawfully violated. Just because he is under no legal obligation to answer doesn't mean that he cannot be asked.

Its like any other right...free speech, bear arms etc......you can exercise it, but you are not immune from the consequences or repercussions or criticism of it.

    hmm.....

  • Cancer? to the team maybe...

You don't check into a rehab center if you have cancer.

  • Who know, maybe there are some legal angles that have yet been disclosed.

No, probably not. I certainly do not think he is facing any criminal or otherwise charges. He may just want to keep things private, which is his prerogative.

But just as he has the right to keep it private, it is not obligatory that he do so. We have the right to ask....and he has the option to answer.

  • And......................

    ................. It's Rizzo.

  • Addiction is a treatable disease - if people are actually willing to undergo the treatment

If Manziel actually voluntarily checked himself in and is willing to do whatever is necessary.. I just might look into calling him "mature"

Facing your demons and taking constructive action is the definition of being a man
