Hopefully we can sign Clay, but its looking like from what I've heard that he's gonna be a Bill. So if that's that's the case I'd like for us to go after either Maxx Williams, Clive Warford or Nick O' Leary out of the draft

I'll take Williams in the first if the top 3 WR's are gone or a guy like O'Leary/Huererman in the 3rd

I really think it depends on what Flip's philosophy is. If it's gonna be like Pettine has said zone run, play action and gimmicks I see a really good blocker with good hands being more valuable than a split-wide stretch the field type guy. There are really 3 TEs in the game that are serious offensive weapons Gronk, Graham and possibly Thomas.

I think they are looking for a guy that Flip calls an "F-back" which is a guy who lines up at FB, RB, TE, or slot WR much like Marcel Reese has the past few years in Oakland... The only 2 FAs that look to fit that role are Clay and James Casey. I haven't seen many guys that could fill that role in the draft, so I'm not sure we'll see that.

I'm sure we'll bring in a late pick or UDFA or a roster cut from another team to add competition to Dray and Barnidge as our traditional TE's, but I was quite pleased with Dray particularly in the red zone last season...

O'Leary and Huereman in the 3rd sounds good. Can we depend on Farmer to use all 10 picks. He turned 10 into 6 last year like we had just won the Super Bowl. We have so many needs that a good draft by the Browns would help to regain some trust in the front office.

I saw James Casey on the list. He was a fullback / tight end at Rice so he can block. He did really well in Houston of course the Texans had Owen Daniels at the same time.

              Just a thought

Sometimes it's hard to keep 10 rookies on your roster. Id rather have 6 or 7 higher-quality guys than 10 rookies, 2 or 3 of which might not even make the roster

                  A. Ain't got no crystal ball, dumb question.

                  B. Yes, it's far better to draft the guys you want, than

                  to just draft ten guys.

Try fitting 10 rookies on a roster every year.

Turn your mid rounders into first rounders over a period of time and your late rounders into mid rounders.

I think Dray is way underappreciated and can contribute even more.

Can't see 10... maybe 7 tops. Rest will be used to maneuver to get guys we really want. The promise of 2016 compensatories likely means we won't be rolling 2015's out to 2016.

Or...this could be the most forward thinking FO we've ever seen.

Compensatories can't be traded. So, roll our 2015 third and fourths (in some combination) into a 2016 second and third. Then, in 2016, package our 2016 first, our two 2016 seconds and whatever else to move up and take Cardale, then use our compensatories as we would our regular picks.

Could be... and another alternative would be involving 2016 picks in trades furthering this year's moves.

Great job with that! As we've seen from injury volumes in recent years, the bottom of our active roster and practice squad is just as important as our top investments. Reality reminds us some things are easier to schedule than injuries. It feels like we're strengthening the back half of our roster. Is there still a ways to go? Sure; but I feel confident in the FO/Coaching Staff we're counting on today.

In just 1 year coming off 4 wins, they kept the philosophy of "play like a Brown" in tact up all the way up to a 7-4 record. When certain positions lost enough depth to change the bottom of our roster and practice squad - this team was still getting halftime leads on opponents like Indy, Balt, Buffalo and Carolina the last 5 games. Hard to imagine injury volumes getting that excessive again. We weren't just losing any players to injury/suspension in 2014 - we lost 3 guys with Pro Bowl resumes. That's a Lake Erie Poseiden Adventure under different leadership rather than a 3 game improvement...

I welcome the only Defensive Coordinator to earn a Superbowl Ring in New Orleans while understanding Revenge of the Nerds is a sequel. "Come get some!"
