Gay Group Demands Christian Churches Be SHUT DOWN for Opposing Same-Sex Marriage
LGBT activist Artery. Freedom for “everyone” – except Christians, of course.
by Jason DeWitt | Top Right News
It has begun. LGBT “activists” have gone full fascist since the passage of Indiana’sReligious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA).
Now — right before the holiest days in the Christian calendar — one gay group is attacking Churches who dare to believe that homosexuality is wrong. The largest gay group in one Western state is demanding that Churches who follow the Bible be shut down by the government.
Jeran Artery, the chairman ofWyoming Equality posted that stunning statement to his Facebook page. When Christians reacted with outrage, the cowardly Artery deleted it. No apology, just hoping it would go down the memory hole. No such luck.
The folks at Conservative Colorado got a screen shot of the post before Artery deleted it.
Today, in a stunning statement, Jeran Artery, Chairman of Wyoming Equality argued thatchurches who do not support same sex marriage should lose their tax exempt status.“Churches that lobby to have freedoms and rights taken away from ANYONE should absolutely have their 501
3 status revoked!!”Talk about tolerance, freedom of speech, and religious freedom. Disagree with Artery’s views of same sex marriage and your church will be shut down.Gone are the days of pluralism. This is what tyranny looks like.
This should come as no surprise, as it reflects the vile militancy the LGBT movement is known for. Just as they unleashed threats of violence and arson against a tiny pizzeria in Indiana when they dared to express a very mild opinion against gay marriage, so they want to punish Christians who dare to preach, well, Christianity.
Notice how he didn’t mention mosques. Gays never criticize Islam, even though it is only Muslims who are hanging gays from cranes and throwing them from buildings every week.
Get ready. With weak-knees like Indiana Gov. Mike Pence
already backing down, you can expect the pink mafia to step up their aggressive action against Christians who dare to exercise their 1st Amendment rights. -
Well, he didn't say shut down...

Exemption Requirements - 501
(3) OrganizationsTo be tax-exempt under section 501
(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, an organization must be organized and operated exclusively for exempt purposes set forth in section 501
(3), and none of its earnings may inure to any private shareholder or individual. In addition, it may not be an action organization, i.e., it may not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities and it may not participate in any campaign activity for or against political candidates.Churches that lobby to have freedoms and rights taken away from ANYONE should absolutely have their 501

-
Also, not shut down, have their charitable status taken away.
-
They would have to 'shut down' every church who believes in the bible. Can't see it happening. Maybe in England........ (Except for the Mosques of course).
-
-
If a tree falls in the middle of the forest..................................
-
Define "substantial part of its activities".
-
If churches lost their tax exempt status, they could not afford,
aall too often, to keep their church. The left is uprising with the encouragement
of these dirtbags in our WH, Buttock and Moochell Obamao.
-
The church slides around those exempt restrictions by having "Their" candidate do the talking.
That way the church keeps it's racket of tax free money going.

First, churches don’t need 501c3 status to be tax exempt, they are automatically exempt by virtue of being a church.
Second, churches don’t need 501c3 status in order for their members’ contributions to be tax-deductible.
Why then is it almost universal practice for churches to incorporate and seek 501c3 status? It’s nothing but an unneeded sense of assurance from the government.
Marcus Owens is an attorney who was formerly the head of the IRS tax-exempt division in DC. He has since been defending churches against the IRS. He confirms the sentiments above: churches don’t need 501c3. As to why churches so frequently line up to file for what they don’t need, he said, “Mostly it’s just a matter of extra reassurance.”

Shutdown and losing a tax exemption are two different things.

I'm not religious and I have no problem with gay marriage but this should alarm anyone who still pretends that the Constitution and Bill of Rights have any meaning whatsoever. This country, for those who love to sing the praises of the founding fathers, was in part built on religious liberty which is being trumped by the politically correct whims of the left.
Which of the lefties on this board would support closing down a kosher bakery that refused to make swastika cakes? How about shutting down a soul food restaurant who refused to cater a Klan meeting?

I think this whole issue is going to come down to "religious rights" vs. "civil rights"
EVERYONE has civil rights
A lot of people don't have religion or want religion.

OBF,
The way the tax exemption is written is very shaky, but I think its saying if you spend too much money (whatever that is) lobbying and what not, the IRS can determine you are a religious organization rather than a church. And if that happens you are subject to taxation.

Mike Huckabee has been lobbying for churches to voluntarily give up tax exempt status to speak freely. I saw this article that states it isn't necessary which is where I got my information from.

Everyone has religious rights according to the constitution. If they don't Obama should just go on TV and say "I'm eliminating certain sections of the Bill of Rights by executive order, fuck you all."I think this whole issue is going to come down to "religious rights" vs. "civil rights"
EVERYONE has civil rights

I don't understand why I am supposed to subsidize religion. It would seem that a separation of church and state would not allow that. Let churches, mosques, whatever, function as corporations on their own more or less. And let them say whatever they want
-
You don't subsidize shit fagboy. And religions can't be forced to pay taxes. End of story.

Benny Hinn definitely needs to have the tax breaks.
