Here is an interesting exercise....at least it was for me. I have taken the 2015 draft order and I listed have the Best player in history that that particular team has chosen at that particular slot. The best example of this is explained in the very first entry, where the Tampa Bay Bucs have the #1 pick. Who has that team chosen in the past when they have had the #1 pick, and this list tells you. Another example....the Browns have #12 overall....who in the past is the best player they have taken at #12 overall. So, here is the list.

There are a few teams that have never made a choice at the slot they have this year, and I will point those out:

#1 Tampa Bay: Leroy Selmon DT HOF (other choices: Vinny, Bo, Ricky Bell)

#2 Tennessee: (includes Oilers): Dean Steinkuhler OC (Larry Elkins

#3 Jacksonville: Blake Bortles (only one)

#4 Oakland: Charles Woodson DB (Darren McFadden

#5 Washington: Sean Taylor DB (only one)

#6 NY Jets: John Riggins RB HOF (Richard Todd, Vern Gholston)

#7 Chicago: Bulldog Turner HOF (1930s) (Chuck Howley, Curtis Conway

#8 Atlanta: Bob Whitfield OT (DeAngelo Hall, Jamal Anderson)

#9 NY Giants: Art Lewis OT (only one in 1936...first year of draft)

#10 Rams: Jerome Bettis RB HOF (Isaiah Robertson)

#11 Minnesota: Daunte Culpepper QB (Derek Alexander DE)

#12 Cleveland: Clay Matthews LB (John Bauer OT) (we should do so well this time)

#13 New Orleans: Jamal Brown OT (Joe Johnson DE, Mark Fields CB)

#14 Miami: Jackie Shipp LB (only one)

#15 San Francisco: Forest Blue OC (only one)

#16 Houston DATs: Travis Johnson DT (only one)

#17 San Diego: The Chargers have never before selected #17 overall....no entry

#18 Kansas City: The Chiefs have never before selected #18 overall....no entry

#19 Cleveland: The Browns have never selected #19 overall before...but....since they acquired this pick from the Buffalo Bills...I will enter what the Bills at #19 took: Tom Ruud LB

#20 Philadelphia: Mike Quick WR (only one

#21 Cincinnati: Tim McGee WR (TEs Tyler Eifert and Jermaine Gresham also taken at 21)

#22 Pittsburgh: Ron Johnson DB (only one)

#23 Detroit: Jeff Hartings OC (Riley Reiff OT)

#24 Arizona: the oldest franchise in the league has never had the #24 pick before...no entry

#25 Carolina: Jon Beason LB (only one)

#26 Ravens: Ray Lewis LB (only one)

#27 Dallas: Aaron Kyle DB (Robert Shaw OC)

#28 Denver: Trevor Pryce DT (Sylvester Williams)

#29 Indianapolis: Marlin Jackson DB (only one)

#30 Green Bay: Ross Verba OT

#31 New Orleans (from Seattle) New Orleans has never had the #31 pick in the draft....but since they acquired this pick from Seattle, I will use what Seattle has taken in this slot: Kelly Jenning WR

#32 New England: Logan Mankins OG (Ben Watson TE)

Bold HOF, Italics, pretty certain future HOF.

Forrest Blue ... haven't heard that name in a while.

He was a damn good center.
