  • Desmukes is Auburn...

Were any 2016 picks mortgaged by any team this year???

Seems like we got stuck and with no 2016's coming or way we did the next best thing... drafted a couple injured PUPs that we can stash for 2016...

A TE with LizFrankenFoot (or whatever) and a CB with a knee.

    I like his size.

    My concerns are:

What will a 4.67 forty translate to if he's to be used outside?

    Certainly didn't hurt Anquan Boldin.

Good point - we can also throw Jerry Rice in on that too. However, when anyone watched Bolden or Rice they saw polished route runners that had a lot more experience playing football than a former basketball player with just 2 years of experience playing football. The good news is we probably haven't seen this guy's best football yet, which is what we want.

I'm really glad the easy drops have a broken hand explanation Bill Polian failed to let us in on because there's a lot to like about 16 TD receptions in just a 2 year college football career.

It's nice to add a big target to our WR Corps especially for our red zone offense.

Exactly.....just the type of big target I was hoping for.....and one who was picked later, which was my preference also..

The best part is his upside.....compared to others that were available late, this guy seems to have the most room to grow....

And his growth from year 1 to year 2 was pretty amazing....so let hope The Farmer has sowed another bloomer!!!!

  • Not sure why all the comments on body catches with Mayle. A lot catches away from his body and over his shoulder on tape this past season.

Interesting. Do you know who I've seen making a lot of body catches on film? Green-Beckham even though there's also plenty of examples of nice grabs with his hands.

The thing to remember about Mayle is he's a promising work in progress. One of the reports I read is he's great at going up and getting the football at it's highest point. Maybe that's a basketball asset which carries over to the gridiron. Who knows - it's just good to read.

  • Id say Mayle is the biggest question mark....which is kind of a theme with Wr's, it seems....

But, along with his lack of experience(which equals upside)....Ive read he's just kinda ho hum on football period.....not really a football fanatic or someone who LOVES the game.....seems he plays just because he can....so, well see where that goes....

Hopefully, he develops a love for the game....or at least a strong Pro mentality....but dont think you can be great(or the best) at "anything", unless you really love and want it!!!

  • "a strong Pro mentality" = "love of money"?

  • "a strong Pro mentality" = "love of money"?

Not too concerned about the motivating factors as long as they coincide with the professional approach...

Of course, I still think love for the game or a genuine want to be great are the best motivators......

  • What's the thinking behind the late-round TE's with marginal skills?

    Possible conversions to H/back

  • Not sure which but saw one of the TE's talked of as an extremely good blocker, more run game positives. . .

I am sure you know exactly how they will pan out, Mr. Kiper.

Don't care about the evals. They were not all positions of need.
