I'll have to do some research but I once read that David Lee Roth was another High IQ learner, studying mostly at UCLA.

PhD in medieval literature is possibly the most useless degree I've ever heard of. I suppose if you're a rock star you can afford to drop a ridiculous amount of money on a degree with no practical application.

I am not that familiar with all of them, but clearly Brian May, Jim Morrison, Art Garfunkel, Tom Scholz, and Huey Lewis have all had major hits.
