Yes I have the complex when others here make fun of southerners in every other thread. Ok. And you were the one that went off about my being an Aggie at our first disagreement.
Yes, I love quarterback B, and so will the vast majority of fans. I think Johnny's notoriety has already proved that. But yes I realize it won't make any difference if he sucks.

Do you know what notoriety means?

If he's good it will be so much fun to have him on our team. Him flicking off Rice (or pointing at the scoreboard, whatever it was) just got the juices flowing as a fan. If his attitude makes him flame out, fine, whatever. The Browns are bigger than one guy. But if he's good and keeps the edge no player will be more exciting for his antics, even if his play on the field isn't that exciting.
We didn't draft him for his "antics" we drafted him to score touchdowns.
Touchdowns get my juices flowing.
Joe Flacco has all the personality of beige wallpaper. He's 11-1 against the Browns and wears a Super Bowl ring.
Ben Roethlisberger is a human meatball. He's 17-2 against the Browns and wears two rings.
No gives a fuck about how "fun" Johnny will be if he wins ... just fucking win. Don't give a shit about his "edge". I'm watching Manning, Brady and Wilson in the last two super bowls. Mature, all business, no flipping people off.
Let the wide receivers and running backs bring the drama. Concentrate on scoring tds and winning football games, if you are flipping people off, you're probably not winning.

Manning rubbed his balls on a female trainers face then blackmailed her about it and Brady left his pregnant girlfriend for a supermodel...plus he cheats at football.
Good comparisons when making the argument for "consummate pros".

Yes. Ok substitute notoriety with fame. And let me know if there are any other semantics you'd like to dissect.

Tim, we should start our own law firm.

Sounds good to me.

So he's famous because he has an attitude or whatever.
Cleveland Browns fans still not impressed. And that is the only thing that matters around here.
He's been in the league a year, he hasn't won a game, scored three points in two starts, backs up Josh McClown and today he threw a water bottle at an 18 year old.
And missed.

Manning ... was a junior in college. Everything Johnny has done in college is forgiven. Everything Johnny has done in the pros is downright shameful so far.
Brady ... so?

So.... he is arguably the most successful quarterback of all time and completely deflates, if you will, your theory.
Cleveland Browns fans were "impressed" enough to put him in the top 5 or something nuts like that of jersey sales before ever even taking a snap. Did Weeden do that? McCoy? Quinn? Clearly Browns fans really wanted him to be the guy, and his personality had something to do with that.

So he sold a lot of jerseys and then mailed in his rookie season.
Ya, I think he's our favorite player of all time right about now.

Irrelevant to the point we're discussing. Browns fans, despite your claims, proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they wanted to be fans of a bad boy QB.
-
baloney. He has never sunk so low that he was a rapistbooger. Or a girlfriend beater.
Let's just see if he can get his career back on track.
I really wanted Garoppolo - he was in my mock drafts...
Hard to depend on JM this coming year ...need a third qb on the roster.
-
Its OK to have a shitry personality if you can actually produce. Everything will be swept aside if you can throw a ball good and win games.
Having a shitty, look at me, money sign, let's party, market yourself, personality that doesn't produce... Well you deserve the ridicule then.

Maybe lots of 12 year olds bought jerseys.
I run a Browns fan website and am president of Browns Backer chapter of 300 or so fans.
Never got the indication that Browns fans want a "bad boy" QB.
Starving for a good one ... yes. Hoping he's a 5'11 elf that flips people off ... no.
But we will take that if he's good.
Pretty simple, really.

If he sucks, can't beat out the old man, and continues to struggle then cut him. If he shows marked improvement, hustle, determination etc. Keep him. Pretty simple.
-
If he can act like this with "ZERO" success in the NFL, i can't wait until he get s glimpse of being successful. This could be dangerous for the Browns and JFF himself.

I wonder if the thought ever occurred to Manziel to just give the little douchebag an autograph when he first asked for it. But who knows how he was "asked". If the kid was polite about it that's one thing, but if he said some stupid shit which I suspect he did, that's another. Either way it shouldn't have taken two hours to resolve. Something is wrong with that picture.

If Manziel's sales were higher than Weeden's then I would say they do. And they were.

Unless JFF was boozing again.

nobody liked the weeden pick and a lot of us didn't like the manziel pick.
the only fans that were in a fevered pitch about manziel coming to the browns and that stormed the jersey sales were the fagboy A&M fans or any kid that likes watching a midget run around and fling up prayers to a WR that won him more games than deserved. (btw, would all of you A&M fans have rushed to become brown's fans if we were to have drafted mike evans?) yes little girls and little girl/boys are his biggest fanbase.
to put manziel in the same sentence as the other QBs mentioned above is laughable. hilarious! hell, i can't stop laughing!! HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!HA!
