  • ...or he's just making sure all of his bases are covered in the ongoing effort to keep sick bastards like cal off of his lawn.

  • the Obama team are pretty much the same animal as the prior Bush team. Obama is obviously more organized/better critical thinker than Bush (which is not hard) but he is still at the core a politician.

He has a great scape goat and he will use it anyway he can. Republicrats are all pretty much the same, just a different coat of paint.

  • I'm being 100% serious here, 'spec.

The man has been in office two months. Whether you or I agree with what he's doing isn't the point. The fact that we need to see how it plays out before heads roll, however, is the point. All he's doing by sticking the Bush jab in there is merely getting (or trying to get) the impatient Cals of the nation off his ass and let the process, for better or for worse, run its course. This seems pretty obvious to me. There are many folks declaring the apocalypse already...many I them post right here. Reminding them of what got us here and how tough it is to fix and how long and arduous a journey it'll be to at the vey least TRY and pacify the doomsdayers is a prudent move IMO. In order to describe how xxxxed up things are, the name Bush has to come up every once in awhile in orderfor those Obammy Voodoo Dolls to be put down.

Seriously, just keep this inmind when you read all of the doomsday garbage around here and elsewhere.

That is a fair argument. I think the problem is, that this is not the first time this tactic has been taking to get out of an economic debacle. It's the first time in the USA, but not the first time world wide. We don't even have to go back very long, during Japan's "lost decade" they basically took the same tact. Threw a lot of money at the problem at the hopes that it would revive their economy. Problem is they got the lost decade. Even with FDR's ground breaking spending (at the time) it still took WWII to end the Great Depression.

Sure things could turn out different this time. There is always that chance. But I'm not going to allow my family to be unprepared "hoping" that these policies will "change" my lot.

  • The POTUS, past or present, has about a 10% of chance of getting us into or out of the current economic crisis. They neither deserve the praise or the blame, IMO. It is foolish to think our current situation is the fault of Bush. Or that Obama will be the reason to get us out. Economics do not work that way.

  • You'd be surprised, 'spec, regarding my affiliation for Obama.

He's not nearly liberal enough for my tastes. But he's the closest realistically-electable option we've had in awhile.

Let me guess, you would like a fag, anti-war, anti military, abortion favoring, tree hugger? LMAO!

  • Stop being such a cocktease, Jeffro. You know I'm a sucker for intelligent, open-minded men!!!

And yes, I'm over near the Chomsky end of the spectrum.

  • Perhaps Obama is justified, mz the pussy, because truly, I would pee on his favorite flower in the flower garden.

But, can you enlighten us with just ONE thing you ever said that referred to being patient with Bush

    in the first two months?

It isn't just me, Obama's poll numbers are going bad fast. His poll numbers are now WORSE than President

    Bush's in 01.

And I wasn't polled. So, it isn't my fault.

  • I'm not full of hate like you, cal. I don't want to oppress others because I fancy myself more moral than thou, cal. I sure as shit didn't cry about my civil liberties being taken away every single day on some message board as you pathetically do, cal.

Of course I hate Bush. What intelligent person didn't? What intelligent American wasn't embarrassed by his actions? You know what, though? My life will be the same no matter who is in office. You, on the other hand, are some confused reactionary who heads for the hills every time Los Pequenos de New Mexico publish some new doomsday piece. It must stink being that fearful all the time.

  • Thanks for the replies fellas, but spending a truckload to fix a spending problem? Any insight on this? Here is my small slice:

I'm sorry, I just don't see how it will work. Particularly when the blame has been cast that the previous admin was reckless with the habit, and here we are autographing blank checks (800 billion might as well be blank) then waiting for state general assemblies to reconvene and determine exactly how said money shall be spent. Pardon my education, but aren't budgets constructed before money is acquired? How many lottery winners have not become bankrupt after year 5?

The same federal, state, & municipal governments who notoriously piss away money at the end of every fiscal year to at least maintain that level of funding for the next year are now going to be somehow responsible for oversight of ballin' ass Wall Street, just because Barry, Biden & Joker Products say so? Sorry, I'm not buying it. (but unfortunately now don't have a choice) 😒

Well for a start we do have one responsible Governor, South Carolina's Sanford. There are more and more Govenors rejecting parts if not all of the so called stimulus.pork bailout. If they except the unemployment funds their states will be strapped in 2 years of having to keep this going., by having to raise state income/property taxes by an average of 2 Billion dollars

Even Insurers reject the bailout. http://www.minyanville.com/articles/MCO-MB...k/index/a/15939

  • Well, I -tried- to be polite and constructive with mz the pussy. I will try to continue.

I am not full of hate, mz the pussy. I don't want to oppress anybody. What are you talking about?

I haven't cried about my civil liberties taken away. They haven't been. Perhaps you are left-handedly

referring to my concern about Obama and the Dems VIOLATING THE CONSTITUTIONAL GUARANTEES

concerning free speech and gun ownership.

But did you not worry about the Patriot Act? Which Constitution Amendment is it, that guarantees the privacy

    of terrorists?

We aren't talking Bush's eight years - we were talking about Bush's FIRST TWO MONTHS compared to

OBAMA's FIRST TWO MONTHS. Please stick to the subject at hand, and refrain from getting all upset

and diverting attention from my challenge - what did you do to give Bush a chance his FIRST TWO MONTHS.

We all know what he did/didn't do over eight years. You are upset about people judging Obama after two months.

Either explain how you were upbeat about Bush for his first two months, or admit you didn't, and understand

if someone here does the same judgement about Obama.

It is not complicated, mz the pussy. And there are plent of economics experts who think that this economy

could crash and it could last for three years. And Obama has a history of using economics to "lean"

on the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans.

Even Bush knew better than that, fer crying out loud. @@
