Browns cut Phil Taylor

Nice

Should also point out that the Browns traded up for Taylor after Julio Jones trade down. KC used that extra pick to select Justin Houston.

Wow!

Called it. Told a buddy before preseason. Anyway Big Phil never did it for me. He showed flashes but I don't think he played up to his potential or draft status. I wish him the best but not against us. Hope he catches on somewhere.

J. McDaniel ahead of I. Kitchen and P. Taylor damn my head hurts. Must be some bad damn knee's. Shelton and Meder got a long haul this season. Welcome to the Big League.

Wow!

And the other picks were used on Greg Little, Owen Marecic, Weeden and a pick traded to get Richardson. Obviously none of them on the team anymore.

I wish this team would just stick with 3-4 or 4-3 and have it be a declaration by the ownership. So many wasted picks "retooling" our defense to switch schemes. Phil Taylor and Sheard are just the newest guys to add to that list. It just makes it that much harder to build up a team while constantly using draft picks to replace good players.

BrownsKidd

Another high pick wasted. Since 99, we must be one of the worst picking teams if not the worst.

Canton Dawg

Speaking of wasted, Big Phil got $5.4 million guaranteed this year.

Kinda surprised they couldn't trade him for something and just told him to kick rocks

Just like RGIII, another Baylor bust. No surprise though, I always thought he was soft. I would say that with Farmer and Pettine, our picks are improving. I'd like to think we're moving in the right direction.

Rumor has it they tried, but nobody would bite.

The Gipper

So much for the depth this team has on the defensive line. I mean sorry, but I think it weakens us a bit. Not saying the Sheltons, Meder's, Hughes, Winn's can't handle it......it is just a perception on my part that this makes our DL lesser than it was.

Zombo

This last game was the first time he was on the field since he left injured last year. One one of Bryant's sacks he held up two blockers. But I guess they just didn't love him against the run, or trust health, and with Meder blowing things up in the preseason they felt he was expendable, guaranteed money and all. Creates another roster spot because think Meder made it when Kitchen was cut. Is Jaccobi McDaniel gonna make the team, or does John Hughes serve as the other big body inside?

OK, WTF is the difference between "Terminating the Contract of" and Waiving".

What an embarrassment.

From Ian Rapoport. . .

@RapSheet: Interesting #Browns reached an injury settlement with DT Phil Taylor while releasing him. Is it interesting? It may not be. But it happened

Well if you throw in Josh Gordon out all year, that's 3 Baylor Bears not having a great 2015. Damn we lost a hell of a goal line defense with Kitchen and Taylor in 1 day.

miktoxic

sorry, i liked phil when he was healthy. he dominated the run D last year in the thurs nite wallop of the bengals.

i'm hoping this is a good move.

Taylor asked to be released and we granted it.

If you don't want to play here, that makes it easy.

Suomi

You've got to stay on the field to be effective. Here's hoping the Browns' young guns on the DL stay injury free. Good luck, Phil.
