The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth

Still too early to really pass judgement. Many former/current bottom-dweller teams seem to have reason to be optimistic about the future though.
But I expected the Eagles to have a down year (and am happy to see Chip fail). Surprised at the ravens+seahawks starting 0-2, although I'm really happy about BLT being in the basement. The Lions have a track record of failure so not really surprised.
Looks like 2014 may end up being a high quality QB draft class. Bridgewater has already looked good. Bortles,Carr look like they may be the answer for the Jags,Raiders. And of course, hopefully Manziel is the answer for us...
And Dan Quinn has a high approval rating early in the season, I wanted him here and think he'll be a great coach for ATL.

The head scratcher for me was why in hell did Chip acquire Murray if he isn't going to use him properly?

Like 1 of the ESPN talking heads said last night. It appears Chip signed Murray away from the Cowboys, just so they wouldn't have him. Kinda makes sense if you look at it now.

But the analysts also say that McCoy fit Philly's offensive system much better, that Murray is more of a downhill, straight ahead runner, and that doesnt work well for them. McCoy....with more wiggle was a better match.

Some interesting matchups next week:
Cincinnati at Baltimore. If Cincy leads to go 3-0 and Baltiwhore loses to go 0-3 Bengals would have a full 3 game lead over the Ravens. That is almost a slam dunk that the Rats are out of the division race.
New Orleans at Carolina. Same thing here. Panthers could go 3-0 vs. Saints 0-3 putting Saints in impossible hole to climb out of.
Washington vs. NYGiant. Loss by the Giants here smashes their season on the rocks against a perceive bad/ bad football team.
(and...it would give Skins some real life and optimism)
Atlanta vs. Dallas......to see for real what Dallas may be without their top two players.
Browns vs. Raiders.....winner has some real like in their division. Loser would be where they were expected to be.

A lot of young, raw QBs involved in at least one side of these Week 2 surprises...
Carr, Jameis, Bortles...
Throw us, BUF and MN in that mix as well... and you can add JM, TT, MM, and Teddy...
And I think every one is now 1-1...

They must have read my week 1 comparisons of the 2014 QBs. Glad I could help, even more glad I didn't say anything bad about Mariota. Then again, how could I? He did so wonderful week 1 that even Jameis wanted to join him throwing TD passes to Titans.
Just for shits and giggles, here's the ages of the 2014 QBs when we try to factor in where they seem to be in their experience and training thus far:
Derek Carr 24 - I can think of worse WR tandems to give him than Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper.
Blake Bortles 23 - Found some great chemistry with at least one of his 1st round WRs yesterday.
Ted Bridgewater 22 - I liked what he did at Louisville and look where they've been since.
John Manziel 22 - Understanding this would've been his final year of college eligibility - that step backward in 2014 to setup a huge grand stride forward in 2015 might have been worth it. I don't recall too many 21 year olds with only 2 years of college experience showing up to ace NFL gigs as wide eye rookies anyway.
How about reading Miami's 114 million $ DT was blowing off scheme with a little "I before Team" ??? I would have never guessed Albert Haynesworth was the role model he aspired to be once he got his dream salary. Congrats to the man named Suh.

I was watching the NFL channel, and they had a listing of top defenses for week two.
The Browns were #2. KC was #1.
The Browns are rounding into kickass shape, we'll see if they keep improving.

The Raiders put up 37 points against Baltimore. That was the biggest surprise. I know Oakland has had some good picks, Khalil Mack, Carr, Cooper. This team is not to be taken lightly. Browns better bring their A GAME
They better not even think about McCown as a starter. He stunk last year in Tampa and that's why they have Winston.
I live down here and couldn't believe they played McCown over Glennon.
McCown is a 36 yr old journeyman who should only play when the QB gets hurt. And I still wouldn't play him over Austin Davis!
GO MANZIEL
GO BROWNS

I caught some of life after T. Suggs and celebrated every minute of it.
