Survey Wednesday

1. Besides our AFCN rivals, which teams in the NFL do you dislike the most?
The Cheaters
2. Terrelle Owens is asking the Cowboys to sign him to play WR. Should they even though he would be HOF eligible next year?
No
3. Have you ever been told that you look like some famous person? If so, who?
Back in the day-Gregory Peck Now-Moby Dick?

4. Showdown LA. It seems that there are actually 3 teams that are vying to return to LA (return is right because all 3 once played there: Rams/Raiders/Chargers). It has been rumored that 2 teams were going to move....but it seems that the league is only wanting one team. While it wants a team in the LA market....quite frankly it does not trust the LA market to support 2 teams. (there was, after all, a reason these teams left there).
Which team do you think should be the one team to go to LA?
Chargers
5. Yogi Berra died yesterday. One of the most beloved people in America, not only for his baseball prowess (and people forget how outstanding he was) but also for his wit, humor, and philosophy fair to say? (How many people have a cartoon character named after them?)
What is your favorite "Yogi-ism"?
It's like déjà vu all over again. And - Baseball is ninety percent mental and the other half is physical.
3. Have you ever been told that you look like some famous person? If so, who?
Back in the day-Gregory Peck Now-Moby Dick?

LOL...

DENVER.. Will never forgive, will never forget.. FUCK YOU BUCKY!
And the Ratbirds twenty times over(who cares if they are in the AFC North, I still hate them worse than the Squeelers)

Terrelle Who? He's old, can't run with the young bucks anymore.. Go back to the desk old man

3. Have you ever been told that you look like some famous person? If so, who?
Jon Favreau... Not sure if I get that, but been told by multiple people.. I also get this a lot "HEY I know you from somewhere".. Don't know why, I KNOW VERY FEW PEOPLE..

What is your favorite "Yogi-ism"?

GFT also didn't answer this question either. You Brits are a seriously deprived culture for not having been aware of Yogi Berra.
When I said this:
One of the most beloved people in America,
I wasn't kidding one bit.
(did you even have the Yogi Bear cartoon program over there?)

We did. I'd heard of him, and it made the news here, but really, I know next to nothing. There are plenty of people who are good for a quote that don't make it to other countries. Prince Philip for example is a great one.

Ha so many gaffes over the year from old man Phillip

No, its not just gaffes or quotes that Yogi is all about, though those do get publicized. It is really his philosophy of life that comes across with Yogi.
Beyond that....it is his accomplishments as a ballplayer that accentuates what Yogi is about. What did Prince Phillip ever do besides marry well?
Yogi is a 3 time MVP, 10 time World Series winner.
Also....it is my understanding that the Yoda character is somewhat modeled on Yogi. Yoda had started out with a different name but Lucas changed it. He didn't want to copy Yogi's name exactly (because essentially it had already been done with Yogi Bear), but the short, squat philosopher of the Star Wars series did get half his name....and some of his style.

Nobody here cares about baseball. If you asked people to name an NFL player, most could give you Tom Brady, maybe one or two others. NBA, you have James/Bryant. MLB - I mean, I have a much greater knowledge of american sports than the average brit, but I'd struggle to name an active MLB player. Babe Ruth isn't active, right?

Without a doubt, the "Dallas Cowboys"; As a matter of fact, they are my most hated team overall, then the Steelers.
2. Terrelle Owens is asking the Cowboys to sign him to play WR. Should they even though he would be HOF eligible next year?
No, he should not be given consideration. His NFL Career is over.
3. Have you ever been told that you look like some famous person? If so, who?

If any team moves to LA, it should be Oakland. They have too many loyal fans in San Diego and St Louis. I don't think it really matters to Oakland whether or not the team moves.

I don't follow Baseball much, so I cant really answer that one.

It is not Yogi's baseball playing that made him beloved beyond that.....though it certainly helped. It was much more than that.
I am not sure who the British equivalent of Yogi would be.
It would be like combining perhaps Wayne Rooney and Alfred Hitchcock into one.
