Second half is looking like the first half...

The Browns may turn this around, but it doesn't feel like it. Play Manziel this year, give him all year to figure it out, and for you to figure him out, and take your lumps now.
I think the idea that this is a playoff team if you can just get some reasonably solid low-risk, low-reward QB play is far-fetched.
You don't have many weapons. Manziel to Benjamin is at least a weapon, something that makes the opposing DC sweat a little when prepping for the game. For all his flaws, the fear of the big scramble is also something that scares opposing coaches. What did the Raider DC sweat this week leading up to this game with McCown starting?
^^^^^ Completely agree!

Just be aware that when you do it's going to be a carnival freakshow of highs and lows for a while. You either go through that and accept it for a few games (or half a season), or you should have never drafted the guy.
And that would be worse than what we're seeing now??

At times, maybe, but there will at least be a bigger purpose behind the travail. And, like I said, there will be some real highs, as well, I hope. Last week was pretty good, and the Titans aren't that bad (maybe).

What's with Whitner? He NEVER struggled with tackling before like he has this year. In all three games. Need better from him.

God Mingo is a worthless football player.

Mariota has the lead over Indy, Brandon Weeden has the lead over Atlanta, Put Manziel in the game before the season is lost.

Might not be the best comparison. Dallas just lost their lead while Weeden, even with a solid O-line and strong support from the running game, is 17/20 for 202 yards, 0 TD, and 1 INT.
McCowen can't reliably hit his receivers in stride so far, and whether that failure is an after-effect of the concussion/week off or just McCowen's ability/fit, the Browns can't win with that level of play. Not sure JF would be much better, though, when things are already going so poorly. I get the whole "let Johnny learn/let the Browns see if he can develop" idea, but coming in down so much isn't going to do Manziel any favors, especially if he tries to force things and loses fumbles or tosses interceptions. If McCowen shows nothing productive the rest of this game, Pettine should definitely consider starting Manziel next game.
Edit: Sorry for delayed reply, got busy with something else. But it doesn't sound like things have much improved for McCowen in that time span.

Ok. Now we know what McCown has.
Let it ride with Johnny.

It's unreal they stick with McCown.....
-
Keep chanting Johnny, it's clearly working to get him amped up.
-
Anyone see Hartline on defense there? He ran across the field with the motion man.

BROWNS WIN IN OVERTIME! WHAT A COMEBACK!
MCCOWN IS WEARING THE CROWN!

Maybe McCown is going to make us eat our words....
If he does, it might indicate he has finally gotten back in synch with the offense. Either way, getting some energy and positive momentum can only be a good thing, whoever is behind the center. McCowen will get another chance after the defense forced a three and out. Now we can see what McCowen can deliver in the clutch. Nevermind. Fumble.
