  • They would show shots of Austin Davis next to McCown studying with him, with Johnny nowhere to be found by himself somewhere.. It looks like Davis will be #2 soon..

    I just don't get it.. Does Pettine have an agenda against Manziel? If so, just trade him...

    Personally I think Manziel is going to be a beast if he proves he can get his head right.. Trading him will be a mistake if it happens

    Anyone else's thoughts m?

  • Don't overthink it. That's my thought on it.

    We shouldn't be getting hyped about a decent third-string QB. I saw the camera pan to Johnny plenty of times to, it doesn't mean his head isn't right because the few times they showed McCown Davis was there.

    I did notice it, but in one of the shots I saw at the edge of the screen a hand holding a tablet and that could've been Manziel. I wouldn't read too much into it yet, but one does wonder.

  • Well the Manziel "Package" they said they were bringing to SD turned out to be a locked box. Could have used in near the goal line.

    Davis is still new to the system, so makes sense that he would want the time with the starter and OC.

    JM seemed a little "aloof". Davis' signing and presence on the 53-man might be contributing, but I would not read too much into that. JM looked engaged while we are on offense.

  • Listening to 92.3 The Fan this morning, the same thing was noticed about Haden. The point was made that we are seeing 3 second blurs of the sideline interaction during an entire football game. I wouldn't look too much into it either.

  • I didn't see Johnny at all. I was going to ask if he was active. But guys on the A&M board said he was shown a bunch of times. But I did notice many of McCown's "study breaks" were with Davis and not Johnny.

  • He was shown a few times...I'd guess less than 5 during the game. I still wouldn't read too much into this unless someone who was at the game can definitively say that when McCown and Davis were looking at the plays and pictures Manziel was no where to be found near them. It's entirely possible he was there but not able to be seen on the screen for the 3 seconds tv showed it.

  • Davis is the new guy and trying to get a feel for the system. I wouldn't read too much into it.

    With the beers it took yesterday to finish that one "My Man Ziel Package" worked just fine. just unzip the box than release, than flush 😮. PS-- lift the damn seat first..

  • Pet was asked and addressed this in today's presser. Nothing to it...

    He said he was over with Flip and McC at times and JM was there as well.

  • Honestly, a coach just can't win with some people. Over the years we have seen qb controversy after qb controversy, and almost every time, our coaches have handled it horribly. Constantly changing their mind, not making a decision, flip flopping, and all our fans complained about it, rightly so. So now we finally get a coach who sticks to his guns, and does what he says and believes, and everyone complains. "He must have something against Johnny", "why isn't he playing Johnny." Qb play isn't the problem! We have no running game and we can't stop the run. Our Defense sucks, and our supposedly good o line can't block for shit. But people still have a hard on for pettine and his supposed hatred for JF. Man y'all are obnoxious.

    Yes pettine has made mistakes elsewhere, but he looks to have made the right choice here. (even though I think we should start JF) Mccown seems to give us the best chance to win.
