Veteran Days Off
-
Joe Thomas has never missed a snap in his entire career and he has been a perennial deserved pro-bowler. This includes playing with a sprained MCL on multiple occasions.
That being said, JT is probably the only one who deserves a day off once in awhile. Apparently this practice has been going on since before Pettine, he just kept it.

They need to be in the fucking gym on their days off. Teams needs more power across the board.

Unless a player is incredibly weak to begin with, trying to get significantly stronger versus maintaining during the season is probably pointless. You already have the wear and tear of practices plus the game.

technically you're absolutely right, I'm just venting at this point. Something offseason isn't going on that probably needs to. Especially with the young guys. Rookies come in other places and get bigger, faster stronger...but in Cleveland, what we draft is pretty much what we get for the duration of their stay in Cleveland.

Since they are under performing and needing more work to clean up mistakes and penalties I would suggest over time in practice versus days off.

I see no problem with a day off from practice as long as reviewing game film is a priority..

Joe may benefit from his days off, but they may be hurting Bito. So much timing and communication needed for the ZBS that I'm not sure you can give up reps.
On the other hand I assume when Joe rests that Erving gets first team reps albeit not at Cam's best position.

I think the players union has an agreement with the NFL limiting practice duration, pads, etc

Listen, guy, if you really really need to give the veterans a day off once in a while please don't make it be on Sunday!
